Hello Zimple,

We are currently experiencing an issue with a portion of our data center that we are troubleshooting actively. We will work to get all services back up as soon as possible and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you

Posted by DimeNOC Dennis, 09-28-2013, 08:29 AM
As an additional update, the issue has been identified and isolated to 16 cabinets within our Orlando Datacenter. We are working to resolve those cabinets at this time and we appreciate patience and understanding at this time.

Posted by DimeNOC Dennis, 09-28-2013, 09:31 AM
To update further, servers are coming back online at this time, but our technicians must visit each server prior so there may be a slight delay in full resolution. We have called in extra hands to ensure this is resolved as soon as possible and we appreciate everyone's patience at this time.

Hi Dennis,

Does the outage include VPSs from vpslatch? I've got a vps at vpslatch that is down at the moment. VPSLatch core website is also down from my end.

Thank you for your update.

Hello kempes,

VPSLatch US servers are hosted out of our Orlando Data center, and some VPS nodes were in the cabinets affected, so yes, your VPS could be affected. As far as CORE being down, at this time I am seeing it working without issues so that may be a separate problem entirely. We will look into it as well though.

Thank you for your patience.

Dennis,

Thank you for your update. From my end, vpslatch.net and their core.vpslatch.net are down.

And

http://isup.me/core.vpslatch.net and http://isup.me/vpslatch.net

agree with me. I hope the outage will not be long.

Posted by Ethernet Servers, 09-28-2013, 10:01 AM
VPSlatch core works fine for me, despite isup.me saying otherwise.

We are actively investigating this as well. It seems there may be some issues with routing that are unrelated to the greater issue we experienced today. The sites appear to work from most geographic locations, but not from others. We will continue to actively troubleshoot until we are confident in a full resolution.

Thank you

does anyone else notice their hostdime down? According to my alert service, i have been down for over 2hrs now. Grrrrr!

Posted by Zimple, 09-28-2013, 10:08 AM
Dennis ,

Are you sure it works for most geographic locations ?

Still they are down for me. Even pingdom verify the same.

Core also still down for me.

Working fine on my end, hostdime is up. but according to http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/hostdime.com it looks down strange to me.

Posted by oblivio1, 09-28-2013, 10:13 AM

Yes, I am sure it was working for most geographic locations. At this time, we are no longer seeing that issue though and isup.me as well as the two geographic locations I was testing from are now working properly. Can you confirm CORE is now working from your end?

Thank you

Posted by Zimple, 09-28-2013, 10:29 AM
Yes, core is up.

Please look at ticket 804424. Now its only 1 server down at the moment

Hello kempes,

Thank you for confirming that CORE is now accessible. While the majority of services have been restored, we still have a good number still down that we are actively working to resolve. We have "called in the calvary" as it were and have all hands on deck available to bring a full resolution to this issue as swiftly as possible.

Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

Hello oblivio1,

I understand your frustration but please note that we have gotten the vast majority of services that were affected by this downtime up and running. The problems that we are dealing with now are residual issues due to the outage, and are taking some time to fully troubleshoot. Even the most redundancy however cannot prevent some issues, and that is just something that requires us to work through to fully resolve.

Again, I apologize for the fact that you are having continued issues but please note that we are still actively working on these issues and will not rest until they are all resolved.

Thank you for your patience and understanding

I have to say that the amount of time it takes for this company to address its own issues is a joke.
3 hours down this morning , unacceptable by all means

On other note, same thing happen in the last month as well.

We expect network issues not to happen in every month, which take couple of hours to resolve.

The vast majority of our clients were up far quicker than 3 hours, but I do agree that your experience is not something we should ever experience again. We are working to redouble our efforts to prevent such an issue from occurring again.

The issues experienced today are in no way similar or related to the issues we experienced a month ago. We will release a full RFO detailing the issues today, as per our policies. While I understand for the end user, down time is down time, we are constantly working to improve our services and infrastructure to obtain the highest level of stability possible.

We appreciate your patience and understanding at this time.

Thank you

The same or not the same, the point brought up is very valid. This stuff happens far too frequently and takes way too long to resolve
I have to say that I've all but given up on this specific VPS, because it's just unreliable.

twhiting9275,

Please read the rest of the paragraph of my response regarding that. We do understand that even though it's not the same issue, down time is down time for our clients, and we are redoubling our efforts to ensure that our clients receive the uptime they deserve. We will not rest until our clients have the service level they expect from our company, and that I can promise.

Thank you

Are you still having issues? please post your ticket id or email your info manny.v @ hostdime.com

Posted by oblivio1, 09-28-2013, 02:28 PM
for me personally, i haven't had any serious down time since January 2012. I have been by the data center a lot and the guys there are pretty friendly. I will say they are friendlier than that other data center we also use We did have some 30 minute hiccups but generally clients seem to see through those. Another one of these serious down times (now 7hrs and counting) will cripple my business!! We run hosted quickbooks for a lot of accounts and though no downtime is a good down time. Today is probably the best day. Jewish day off and not a weekday.

Guys please find, fix and please find ways to prevent. This is awful!!

twhiting9275,

As Dennis said we understand your frustration, no downtime is acceptable, to us not even 1 minute. However we work in a industry where there are times things go wrong. We are very diligent and this will be assessed in detail.

Just to make it clear not all servers were down 3 hours, a big majority of them were resolved and up within 1 hour. The ones which still had issues were isolated issues to that particular server.

If you are still down please contact me personally asap manny.v @ hostdime.com

oblivio1,

Thanks I got your message and I am working with you personally on this. Just to be clear even with redundancy in place, no data center is immune to no issues.

There seems to be an isolated network issue in routing to our data center. We are actively working on it as I post this.

www.hostdime.com is loading without issues

There is a 20G+ DDOS attack which is currently being filtered which should resolve any connectivity issues

Yes, Dennis from Hostdime replied right before you.

At least their Server Status page is working at the moment:

hostdime . com/facilities/server-status/

It's showing lots of "connection actively refused" messages.

I can't get to https://core.hostdime.com/ or my server, both timeout and I can't seem to contact support.

I will try to be patient but I am getting calls from my customers too.

I can't get to any of my sites either...but let's all keep in mind that VPSlatch/HostDime have a good reputation; I for one haven't seen an outage like this in, well, ever. In my mind, they've earned some patience; they are actually really good at outage and service notifications.

Stuff happens on the intertubes.

I will continue to monitor.

Hostdime Orlando got down 1 minute ago and even their website is down at the moment.

Hostdime is on fire these days!

In recent times I have logged several falls there, yesterday was 2~3 minutes offline.

This online here again.

Doesn't seem power related. I have a layer3 device that does sub-netting in a private rack @ HD with it's own IP from HD that's not part of my own IP resources. Nothing else is accessible, i.e. I can reach the IP HD gave me, but none of my own IPs that they advertise for me to their peers. Not seeing any packet loss to that device. Some kind of peering/BGP issue maybe.

EDIT: Now I'm seeing everything online again.

Hello all,

All issues are now resolved. The routing issues were relegated to less than 10 IP ranges in our Orlando datacenter and the issue was resolved within about 30 minutes of initial report.

Thank you

This was a indeed peering issue that effected about 8 class c's. Our internal monitoring detected it and was addressed right away.

Down again, seems like same issue as earlier.

Hello houstong8,

We aren't experiencing any issues at this time and I do not see any drops in our system. I highly suggest contacting our support team if you are experiencing any issues with your specific service.

Thank you

Wasn't able to load your site from home and outage was very similar to the earlier outage. I have monitoring of devices from two other data centers via snmp and a custom udp client/server monitoring packet loss and jitter. Only lasted 6 minutes, affected devices in different racks. Pretty sure nothing on my end.

We will check into the report and ensure any issues are dealt with.

Thank you

Please do contact our support via livechat or email if you experience any further issues so we can look into them specifically because this wasn't a network wide issue so we want to look into your specific issue to address the root of it.

We appreciate your assistance to help you.

Oh, hi, sorry I didn't have a chance to come back here yesterday. I opened the ticket and the problem was resolved about one hour after I opened it. The VPS is now up and running now. Thanks.
