Hostplate.com down and all servers offline for 12 hours now

Posted by p2prockz, 04-03-2013, 09:50 PM
Hello,

It seems that https://hostplate.com/ is down and all of our 8 servers with them are down for more than 12 hours. I have sent them an email but not sure if they got it because the site it self is down as well.

Can someone from hostplate please update us on the progress?
Thanks

Try to get a social connection with the owner or support staff of the conpany.

Like skype or fb. Dont believe in direct mail. They may be down too. We too faced this situation once. But our customers did that to contact us.

Always get connected in twitter or fb. They might explained about this issue there

That's correct as i got information from my account manager. There is no such issue in DC. He said they are facing non tech issue.

Sorry in advance for any inconvenience.

Regarding the current downtime we regret to inform you as follow.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances between MN Solution IT Group AB (HostPlate) and Leaseweb B.V , from now on we are not able to provide you any service.

Please note that all your servers including files or data are in Leaseweb and we don't have access to them anymore. We believe you can get your servers from Leaseweb directly. Also all of your email address have been already sent to Leaseweb.

It's our first priority that all of you receive your servers and
get your data. We will do our best and this is the least that we can do at the moment.

Kind regards,
MN SOLUTION IT GROUP AB

Hello,

HostPlate has always been a valued LeaseWeb customer. Unfortunately, the services towards HostPlate are currently suspended due to non-technical issues. We have duly reminded HostPlate about the procedure to get their services back online. LeaseWeb will lend full cooperation to guide them through this. We kindly request you to contact HostPlate for further information.

as per my knowledge HostPlate is only the one who can solve this. LSW not provide any support unless HostPlate account is fully paid (if there is any due)and not suspended for any reasons.

Posted by aodat2, 04-04-2013, 11:16 AM
I guess what LeaseWeb is saying is that you guys should contact HostPlate to resolve any issues with them. If you have any questions about the server or etc, it should not be directed to LeaseWeb but rather HostPlate.

Apart from that, LeaseWeb did not say that they will wipe out everything so if you contact LeaseWeb about your server, I'm sure they will help take it off HostPlate's account and put it onto your own.

That's what I understand from what they wrote. Good luck in getting this resolved.

Sorry to say this but...

Another One Bites The Dust!!!

Hostplate. They are the only ones to help you other than your Credit card company or Paypal...

Moving this to provider outages.

Posted by Siemi, 04-04-2013, 12:42 PM
I think it is quite easy. Hostplate didn't pay Leaseweb. Leaseweb wants to be paid before they release the servers. Hostplate doesn't have funds to pay leaseweb, so there will not be funds to refund as well.

Instead of wining for my money (yep, I have 1 dedi with them as well), I have taken a new small account with a different provider. Changed some DNS entries and my emails are flowing again. I hope to be able to restore my backup tonight and then I'm back in business. Seems the best way forward for now.

I have asked leaseweb for an offer on changing from Hostplate to LSW. Hopefully LSW is willing to do so, otherwise, tough luck and I have to bite the bullet that I have lost some sites/data.

Looking backwards, the latest promotions from Hostplate were too good to be true. Probably a last attempt to....

According to the FB page, the servers will be back online, since "all problems have been resolved".

Due to the way HP handled this, I'm searching for a new provider and from what I read in the comments, I'm not the only one. II don't wanna gamble my business on whether they will be able to pay at the end of the month. Sad, since I was happy with them

I would suggest everyone look for another provider... it's clear that the company is in trouble, staying any longer after this point would be like playing Russian roulette.

Nice to see the issue resolved, but in any case, everyone backup often. This should be done with any provider, no matter how reputable they are.

You're right here.
Unless they provide clear explanation about what happen, I wouldn't risk staying with a company that does such things.

Hope you can all get your data back or that you had backups!

They told reason while ago "We faced with power outage and Switch issue"
so it is fake...?

Posted by Siemi, 04-04-2013, 02:59 PM
Thats what upsets me. According to LWB there was no technical issue. So HP simply lied. HP claimed to be working in the datacenter. Thats a lie, even if they were near it, they wouldn't have been granted access. HP said LWB would handle their customers. LWB pointed us back to HP. Probably they thought to just hand everything over to LWB and run.

In my opinion it can only be a money issue and HP found a way to pay or guarantee payment. If it would be anything else, they could have said so....

I was thinking same as of you, It shud be money problem.

What is worrying me is that there is still no HP server back online, even though it is already more then 1h since they said LWB will bring them back alive. Knowing LWB it is just one click and the servers are there. Another lie? Buying time?

I just find it odd. As soon as they solved the problems with LW the servers should have been booted immediately. Almost 2 hours have passed and not even their own site is online.

Posted by aodat2, 04-04-2013, 03:47 PM
Just FYI, if someone managed to talk to LeaseWeb and ask them to unsuspend all the servers, then LeaseWeb will do it within moments. It's just a matter of turning back their ports to the server, not like they have to do any manual thing.

This is quite a serious issue and I'm sure if they have come up with a solution, then it would be quite a serious thing to get all the servers back up online no matter what time it is or etc. Allowing the servers to still be offline for another minute is not a healthy thing to do both for LeaseWeb and HostPlate.

So with both said, either they are stalling or an agreement has yet to be reached between both parties.

I would personally not trust a provider who actually would not tell the truth to their customers. It's a known fact that the problem has nothing to do with the "Technical" side of things (as said by LeaseWeb) and it is something else but rather they told the world on their FB page that it was due to power failure and what not. That's their biggest mistake and their biggest LIE.

If such a thing is happening, I would have just said "Certain unforeseen circumstances" and it would have taken cared of it.

This sounds a lot like the last wjunction host that kept claiming they had 40gbit/sec unmetered from LW as well as a $100,000 juniper router. They were selling gig unmetered + huge storage dedi's for pennies on the dollar.

In the end they owed LW a ton of cash and LW did their clients the favor of powering them on so they could pull.

Hey guys. U think its better for you people to start negotiating with other deducated service providers for an offer.

Anyway the server is down right now. Do something useful in that time

Posted by p2prockz, 04-05-2013, 02:00 AM
I think LWB should provide us an update regarding the situation because HostPlate has told the work in the FB page that a solution was found more than 12 hours ago. So it looks like LWB is not turning on the machines even after the problem is sorted.

If that is not the case LWB please update this thread.

The problem the last company had was they were doing full boxes w/ gig unmetered for $400/m. When the clients went to LW for pricing they were getting quotes back in the ~$1k/m bracket.

It seems they have increased their prices so I hope they are here to stay. The server I have with them is now at 179 EUR, I'm currently paying 139 EUR. Hopefully this increase is only for new clients.

Their own pricing undercuts LW some ($10/m on the big storage node). I'm not sure how much of a discount LW gives resellers but where is the margin?

All it'll take is a large dispute or someone burning bandwidth and things go to hell for them quickly.

I'd say just look for your plan on leaseweb's site and see what kind of price you were paying compared to that.

Posted by Karsh, 04-05-2013, 05:59 PM
When I first signed up for one of their 100 TB plans both Leaseweb and Hostplate had the exact same prices, I only went with HP because unlike LW I didn't have to pay VAT. I think it was part of a promotion which ended on 31 Dec. Right now LW doesn't offer the server I have (NL/100TB-DL120G7/Intel Xeon E3-1230).

Hostplate has been in the bussiness for 4 years, so I hope they know what they are doing. From what I read on Facebook, this was their first bump.

Quote:
LeaseWeb regrets the turn of events and would like to offer Hostplate' customers a solution that may assist in minimizing the impact of Hostplate’ suspension. Without any obligation to do so (legal or otherwise), and without incurring or accepting any obligation or liability or offering any support service or service level guarantees, LeaseWeb will temporarily restore access to Hostplate' infrastructure. Access will be restored at 16:00 hours CET today (14th June 2013) and will be blocked again at 9.00 hours CET (17th June 2013).
So quick, quick, quick.. Get backup and move!

They've just announced in this thread: http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...29#post8725929 - that Leaseweb has restored the access to the servers for 3 days.

Hostplate customers should be very happy with what Leaseweb did, wishing you guys the best.

And honestly, I moved from Hostplate to Leaseweb myself last time - and I find the service at LSW outstanding.

I regret that I didn't go for LSW from the beginning.
