SpeedySparrow My Site is Down... Anyone Else
Posted by TBradley, 08-22-2012, 11:30 PM |
I have a Reseller Account with SpeedySparrow and it has been down for the past six hours. Is anyone else where I'm at? |

Your site is up, but loading very slowly. You should contact their support department |

I just checked downforeveryoneorjustme.com and it says the still is down. |

A fellow Tennessean,
Sites up for me and loading fast, perhaps a routing issue or something. |

It must be a Tennessee thing |

It may be your connection, have you contacted support and see what they got to say? |

Do they not offer phone support? |

Check with hyperspin.com, there's a lot of server and their report is good, even more, it's free. |

It appears they are in the process(hopefully) of restoring everyone's website. This is what my site is doing right now. http://www.asaki.ws
Still waiting on a reply for my support ticket. |

You have serious DNS issues with the domain you gave. Is this isolated to you? |

No, I don't think it is. I looked up various other websites on the server and they were all getting that message as well.
They did send a mass email out to everyone saying the following.
We appreciate your patience during this matter, please be aware that as our datacenter is now restoring files and data back on to the new arrays sites may appear offline, with errors, and/or data missing - we encourage you not to touch your accounts whilst this process is underway to minimize any impacts to your account(s). This process may take some time and as of the present moment we are trying to conclude a time-frame on a restore point, however, due to the nature of these matters this may be hard to predict.
I will continually follow this matter up with you, though please do note that whilst this is underway that you do keep minimal actions on your account to avoid any data loss. |

The site doesn't load for me in S. CA, but it does work from Denver, CO, where I get a redirect to cPanel's default web page.
Interestingly, most nodes on host-tracker show that the server is at least responding, while a few do get errors: http://host-tracker.com/check_res_ajx/11088570-0/
Also, as DC-Ro pointed out, there are some DNS issues. Hopefully they will be cleared up when everything is fully restored. http://intodns.com/asaki.ws |

Did SpeedySparrow experience some kind of failure? |

Your local ip may be blocked by a firewall, meaning only you are blocked and not the rest of the world from your sites. Contact their support to verify. |

I don't think that is the issue, but I did already open a ticket. Still waiting for a reply. Does anyone know if Sean is still running speedysparrow? This is a bit unusual for them to have not started a forum thread by now or respond ASAP to trouble tickets. |

Your site loads fine for me (assuming the site referenced in your profile is hosted on the account having issues).

I get the cPanel default page, they might have updated the DNS zones before restoring the files. Once they get your site on the new server you should be ok. However you need to set the NS records for the domain correctly, the local zone and parent zone are mismatched at this point. |

I'm getting a cPanel default for my shared account.
My Xen VPS was not affected. It's just an issue on the shared server, from what I've read. |

The management team are sending out e-mail updates regarding the problem. Some of my blogs are up now but the important ones are getting 500 error messages. I guess they are not yet fully restored and it may take a little bit of waiting but it'll come back up. |

The services are all online running off the latest Percona MySQL - one thing @Derek you are still using the old name-servers of NS1/NS2 (PrivateClusters.com) where they should be NS3/NS4 of the same domain, we advised customers to update these over 4 months ago.
Regards @TBradley, the site that you opened in your ticket is working for me and is all setup correctly, though again, your DNS entries for NS3/NS4 reflect back on to "domaincontrol", I have updated these for you but that would also explain those extra issues. |
