Hostgator problems?

Posted by HostXV, 07-05-2012, 01:35 PM
So I thought I would go check out Hostgator for a friend of mine and I noticed something is wrong with their website. I've included a picture below.

Site works fine for me.

There was another thread about this same thing yesterday.

It works for me but I guess they have some network problems.

Also loading fine on my end. Have you tried to clear your cache? What browser are you using?

The site seems to load fine now. But It just happened again a minute ago, and now the site is properly loading. Seems like they are having some problems.

I wasn't getting it but now I am getting the error other people were, weird...

Probably because they have things going to local host
"<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://www/css/en-US/common.css"><link rel="stylesheet" href="http://www/css/en-US/index.css">"

They never had any problems until now. It's perfectly obvious why
*cough* EIG *cough*

That's just your browser. Turn off Adblockers and I guess it will work.

If you're talking to me I don't have any adblockers set

It's loading just fine on my end though.

It took several years for me to have any type of faith in HG, but in the last couple of years I have thrown my support(FWIW) at Brent.

I think EIG also seems to have made some improvements and plan on watching how the transition unfolds. It speaks volumes to me when the HG/EIG thread of the day is about broken CSS.

I noticed it yesterday, seems fine now though.

I'm sure we're going to see dozens more threads similar to this, but the fact is EIG hasn't taken over hostgator in any shape or form! I'm still 100% owner of hostgator and as long as I am I will not allow for anything to change.

It's possible we were getting ddosed bringing one of our mirrors down at this time. That or the issue is between your computer and or internet connection.

This seems to be a problem between your computer and or internet connection.
Deal gone bad or still pending?

I agree with Brent in at least the fact that no acquisition has been made yet and the EIG sarcasm should be put on hold every time someone has a issue with a HG service.

However -

It seems there has been some issues and more than a few people have noticed it.

Wow finally a reply from you guys about the whole EIG thing, even though you didn't deny or say it's happening at least we've seen a post from you on a thread talking about it! And I don't think it was it's been happening to many people lately. Anyways nice seeing a reply from you brent!

Is the acquisition with EIG still on or canceled? Either way congratulations on your success.

It turns out this was indeed an issue on our side affecting a small minority of people. One of the caching mechanisms was broken on our mirrors. Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention, the issue has now been fixed. thanks!!

The deal with EIG is still on tract to complete, hopefully soon.
