GuardHosts offline topic: Contacting all current and new customers [ Merged ]

Hello everyone,
Marlex over here. I'm one of the customers of Guardhosts who seen the bad experience done 2 days ago when Guardhosts suddenly (as far as I could see) shut down all their services, both VPS and dedicated servers, and they're not told us anything about what's happened.
This is a thread where we can make a follow-up to keep updated each other and if someone has new info, please, share it with other customers who are, also, worried about their data and websites.

Here's the thing: for a weird reason, 2 days ago, Guardhosts shut down all their shared, vps and dedicated servers with, apparently, no reason. A lot of us requested information about what's happened but the Guardhosts Customer Support isn't responding. No one has received a response back from them yet and hope if some of you guys receive an update, share it with us.
Some others are recommending to start filling complains on Paypal (to all who have actually paid using Paypal over 2CO). |

Thanks for setting up the thread Marlex. I'll repeat my story here:
As I noted earlier, I've been using GuardHosts for an OVH dedicated box for three months. Great speed and the best support I'd seen from any of the six providers I have used. Lokesh usually responded to service tickets within minutes.
Two days ago my box stopped working. Because it was a dedicated box, it actually went dead when the prepaid OVH subscription period expired. (Apparently it was coincidental that it happened when all the shared boxes went down.)
Anyway, when I reported it, I got a prompt reply from William (whom I'd never seen before) saying it was a billing error and they were checking with OVH. After that first reply, nothing....
I'm checking with 2CO, but so far they want me to contact the vendor. No luck there. My 2CO payments went directly to my credit card, not Paypal, so I'm checking with the card company about disputing it from that end, too.
What a shame. They really did a good job while they lasted. |

Joined the train in the last minute just to figure out it was going no where. :'( Well I disputed via paypal got to wait 2 more days to escalate to claim. |

I have just dispute payment with 2CO.. No reply to tickets.
Even my server not delivered and they are offline in skype aswell tickets are not being replied. |

So I have ordered a dedicated server at GuardHost.
they turned my service from "Pending" to "Active" right when I made the payment, so the time on my rental server has started ticking.
they didn't set it up even though they turned it to "Active", so I asked them what's up and they said their ToS says the server will be up in 24-72 hours guaranteed.
I told them thanks and patiently waited.
All of that was on early the 14th (at around 6AM CET timezone) and it is now the 19th 3PM! more than 130 hours has passed!
yesterday I told them:
"It has been over 72 hours. this is not relevant anymore.
the service time is ticking and no server yet, this is a sick joke.
I want a full refund to the Paypal account I used for the purchase (primaryppmail@gmail.com).
if you don't refund me by tomorrow at noon I am just going to open a dispute with Paypal.
Do NOT try to open it for me tonight/tomorrow as it is NOT RELEVANT anymore.
next time stand up to your guarantees and have it up and ready in 24-72 hours like you promise.
any useless reply or a server setup and I will open a dispute with Paypal right away.
I am done with you, no time for games, I just want the money back.
Good evening."
And they didn't even reply yet! THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS! the server is not up yet! the time is ticking! I am losing days! and they wouldn't even respond!
I don't need this server anymore as it isn't relevant. I have ordered a server from a different company.
They didn't stood up for their guarantees and now I want a refund.
and as I told them, I was going to open a dispute with Paypal a yesterday but then I saw I paid via Paypal but the payment was to 2Checkout.
I've tried contacting 2Checkout and they said the buyer and the seller should figure it out themselves.
how? I don't know, they wouldn't even answer.
so I figured I shouldn't chargeback and get blacklisted at 2Checkout.
P.S
It's not that I don't want the server anymore, I don't NEED it anymore, their PRODUCT isn't just the SERVER, it is anything related to it, such as SETUP TIME, which they stated shouldn't be over 72 HOURS.
they FAILED TO DELIVER THEIR PRODUCT (funny thing I STILL didn't get it yet, I don't want it now, but still, it isn't up) and I want a full refund and now they are ignoring me.
5 days, no server, no answer, no nothing. not even "We're on it" or something like that.
I highly recommend any of you to stay away from them.

Who cares if your blacklisted.
I don't believe they would blacklist you though that would be utterly dum.
Why should you get blacklisted when it was one of their sellers fault?
I charged back and if I get blacklisted that means 2CO isn't a fair company. |

What I only got about Guardhosts is their skype: guardhosts.
Facebook and Twitter accounts are like no one cares about them. Does anybody has other ways to contact them? |

I do care.
I always use 2Checkout for a faster confirmation on the payment.
if you pay the hosting company directly via Paypal (without using 2Checkout), they tend to go through the well known "screening process".
I rather lose $47 and keep the ability to use 2Checkout than get those $47 back and never use 2Checkout ever again.
And I am pretty sure they will blacklist me, seeing as their answer to me was pretty clear. it is between me and the seller.

What are you going to do? Go to the middle of India for a refund? All the contacts are in his site. He hasn't answered any of them.
"it is between me and the seller." They told me the same thing.
They even suggested going to my bank to start a charge back for my money if the seller doesn't respond. If they blacklist you it would be a loss for them. |

He got on today early morning Sunday (UTC-8). Asked why no one answer or put my service up. He told me the CEO had some issues. After that he said "wait brb". Never came back thought...
Oh before that he said sat and sun aren't business days so that setups,calls, or tickets aren't attended these days but he is online today and not on Thursday or Friday? Weird... will continue updating as events pass. |

Well, if they don't work on weekends something has changed because Lokesh DID respond to service tickets over the weekend.
If he had to contact OVH (...in France eight time zones away where they really DO only keep weekday office hours) he might have to wait on them -- but he WOULD at least reply promptly. Likewise billing issues might have to wait until their financial guy arrived -- but the next morning I'd have an answer and a solution. Like I said, until last week they were the Good Guys.
BTW, here are the names I have on people associated with GuardHosts:

Bharani Kumar Challagulla
Lokesh Challagulla
All are located in Mumbai. Lokesh is on Facebook and LinkedIn. I even tried a Facebook message, but got no reply. If anyone has a full LinkedIn membership you may be able to post a message. |

How is it possible for a man that's now with all their customers in front of it facing problems (or hiding from them) to post a offer? That's quite suspicious. I don't know if the account belongs to Lokesh.

I'd say this is one of the biggest 'run away' flags you can get.
I was reading the comments about no service, no contact etc in one offer thread the other day and noticed the OP's account (Henrywags) was suspended.
It's then unsuspended, he comes back onto WHT and posts another offer while ignoring the issues.
If you did get a service, backup and move. For those that didn't, contact your chosen method of payment. |

I started my disputer after the 2days of missing now its almost a week.
I started it as soon as he disappeared because as Loon said, its one big Run Away flag ignoring current issues and trying to get more clients with a new promotion. |

All of us already tried there phone numbers and even his "personal phone".
All of them never answered and tickets didn't get responds nor did waiting for the "business hours" he logs in Skype since he hasn't. |

2CO is a payment processing company for the seller. You will need to contact the seller directly for a refund since they are who you placed the order with.Thanks for contacting 2CO have a great day!

No point in trying to contact him anymore... he won't answer.
I opened a dispute 5days ago and made it a claim today, I have to wait till Jun 2 now.
The 2CO guys answered my dispute by saying, to contact the seller and if I couldn't reach agreement to escalate the ticket <--- I think they meant dispute. Either way I told them I already tried to contact the seller for the past 5 days and escalated it to a claim now I have to wait till June 2nd. |

I don't want to be rude, but, why are you buying hosting from a site where the most important page "About Us" is missing. You need to check at last if the site is owned by a REGISTRED company.

At this rate, it sounds like its only a matter of time before your node fails. You had better grab a backup just in case something goes wrong |

That is the response they should have given. Unfortunately as you are not the customer who purchased the service, OVH cannot (and should not) provide you with any information. This is a simple customer privacy practice. |

Just grab your backup data and go find a good reliable host for you.I can 100% guarantee after some time there server will shut down.because they don`t renew there server i think.some of my Germany server already gone. |

Why would a pretty decent sized hosting company shut up shop without a word or seek to get some benefit of transfering their customer base somewhere else?
Looking in the offers thread there is always people looking to buy hosting companys. |

Heyy guys, as all of you know that guardhosts went off & got banned from everywhere, i lost my domain cb-gfx.com as that guardhosts guy Lokesh was having my domain in his namecheap account as he transfered it from old registrar to namecheap, & now as he is gone, i lost my domain , i called him many times but he is not answering, i tried contacting name cheap fraud team to look in the issue, told them whole thing in detail but they replying same thing again & again - please contact the person directly we cant help u sorry i have access to old registrar, even i have email from namecheap which i recieved on the time of transfer any way any help please?

I would look for a new host now if I were you guys.
Even if you get his contact details if he answered and you guys metioned guardhost I guarantee he will hang up on you. |

Well guys, I think we can no longer follow Lokesh for what he did, because no one of us lives actually on India and OVH customer support can't help us.
Hope all of you who have opened a dispute on Paypal and contacted their banks to fill a claim for your money will work. In my part, I lost 2 complete websites (no backups, silly me) with a high cost.

I just got final word from Paypal. My case was denied
I put in a claim, 2CO said contact seller direct. Said they don't respond, unacceptable answer.. 2CO replies again, contact seller direct. So I up'd it to dispute. Paypal says we will investigate.. wait, wait wait... laalaalaa.. ok update finally.. We are sorry to inform you we could not find favor in your claim as your purchase was virtual or tangible goods and not protected by our buyer protection. |

Lokesh said that he had met with an accident and cannot be able to walk. He says thats the reason why he count not pay the invoices for servers and hence they had been taken.
I dont know whether it is true or false, but this is wat he said.
Lokesh contacted me as i have filed a complaint on him in AXIS bank. So they have blocekd his account. He called me for taking the ban on his account. I asked for a refund. I have paid for 3 month VPS $25. I got a refund amount of $16 dollars from him finally.
Somehow saved myself from those scammers. |

Hopefully he refund to you an amount. Others, like me, we can't count on that, even if we lost a complete set of sites.

Lokesh contacted me as i have filed a complaint on him in AXIS bank. So they have blocekd his account. He called me for taking the ban on his account. I asked for a refund. I have paid for 3 month VPS $25. I got a refund amount of $16 dollars from him finally.
Somehow saved myself from those scammers.

Is Lokesh kidding us? even he can pay his invoices via paypal using his laptop if he is in hospital.
Accepting payments via bank deposits is Lokesh's biggest mistake ever he did, because he is very smart in scam field.
Anyway now we are able to trace him.
Would be more helpful if you share Lokesh's contact details here. thousand of people are worrying about their loss. not only money, website backups etc. |

Lokesh and his colleagues or relatives or whatsover, are REAL scammers.
They are CYBER CRIMINALS!
The following are what he has done to me:
Before, he had pretended to be nice, quick response, but few months later..
1. He made my servers offline and said they were DDOS attacked and asked for money to recover them.
2. Then he made my servers offline and said they were hacked and asked for money to recover them.
3. Then he made my servers offline and said the RAID was failed due to the last hack and asked for money to recover them.
4. Then he made my servers offline and said the RAID was failed again (after recovered in Number 3.) and asked for money to recover them.
5. Then he made my servers offline again and said that the OVH asked for me to renew the servers, otherwise my servers will not be online again. To this stage, it sounds weird so I ran away from him.
I'm not a programmer, just a normal webmaster, so I'm not familiar with those techninal things.
Money is one thing but so sad that my business is obstructed by these bad things committed by those bad animals.
He scammed me many hundred dollars. All payments paid via 2Co.
I know for me it's hard to get all money back and I'm OK now.
But those who are able to track him down, please give him what he deserves as a SCAMMER!!!!

Sorry for the loss. now they have nothing on their 2CO/paypal/alertpay accounts. all money are withdrawed. maybe you think bit hard to get money back. but if you able to file a case on them, it's not much harder than you think.
You should worry about giving away your money to such scammers.

P.S. For Lokesh, I'm so sad that we can be good friends and have a long business relationship. He is young and but finally he chose to stop everything and turn to be a SCAMMER. So sad for him, his parents and family, and his future. |
