Posted by JenniH, 10-25-2006, 07:03 AM I am getting this on jaguarpc.com:

And our sites are down there. No email response.
Does anyone have any info?
Posted by JenniH, 10-25-2006, 07:24 AM It seems to be fixed now, although it has been a bit intermittent this morning.
Posted by mripguru, 10-25-2006, 11:31 AM Just an FYI, with a host as large as JaguarPC - they probbably don't keep their own site on a server that is also used for customersQuote:

Posted by stoppingfear, 04-01-2012, 12:33 AM Hello,
Does anyone know what's up with Jaguar PC? Their severs are down and my VPS is down.
Surprisingly their website is also down:
http://www.jaguarpc.com
I understand they were having some problems previously; do you think this is a technical issue or something else?
(Usually I'd check their support when a VPS is down but kind of hard to do so when their site and support system is down. So hoping to find some answers here)
Posted by stoppingfear, 04-01-2012, 12:35 AM LOL hopefully it's not because they are participating in Earth hour haha
(Nothing wrong with saving the environment )
Posted by officialwebhosting, 04-01-2012, 12:45 AM I have this problem too...my servers down and jaguarpc.com inaccessible too....
Posted by Colin - GrayWebHost, 04-01-2012, 12:57 AM Yikes, how long have they been down for? Do you have a phone number you can contact them at? Have they contacted you advising an ETA for them to be back up?
Posted by saqibnpt, 04-01-2012, 01:05 AM i have facing this problem too. my 1 vps also down with jaguarpc.com and other 2 vps working well,
Posted by Hexpress, 04-01-2012, 01:13 AM jaguarpc is down and my vps I have in jaguarpc are also down.
Posted by kartik786, 04-01-2012, 01:16 AM Hi,
I'm unable to open my portal or ping it Management hosted with jaguarpc.
I went straight to jaguarpc.com to open a support ticket and even their site isnt opening.
Any more customers with the same problem?
Posted by Hexpress, 04-01-2012, 01:18 AM All my vps are down, I'll have to think about having my vps with different suppliers to keep me from happening again.
Posted by kpmedia, 04-01-2012, 01:18 AM I can confirm that secure.jaguarpc.com is down. I went there because a VPS is down.
So no VPS, no way to open a ticket about it. It's been down for 20-30 minutes now.
There were also some micro-outages earlier today, 5 minutes here and there for about 2-3 hours.
Hmmm.... :/
Posted by officialwebhosting, 04-01-2012, 01:19 AM from twitter jaguarpc : We are having some network issues and servers with IPs 69.73.x.x and 209.217.x.x are currently inaccessible.
Network Issue in Atlanta Data Center
Posted by Colin - GrayWebHost, 04-01-2012, 01:21 AM Seems like they should have notified the customers via email as the main method not twitter.

Posted by WorkingAuthor, 04-01-2012, 01:23 AM Looks like issues are resolved. JaguarPC main site is up and so is mine and client's.
Posted by kartik786, 04-01-2012, 01:23 AM Okay, my dedicated box is up and running again and so is their site. Looks like a few minutes of downtime ?
Posted by Hexpress, 04-01-2012, 01:28 AM it seems that everything is back to normal
Posted by kpmedia, 04-01-2012, 01:29 AM Some of us don't live in the Twitter bubble.

Posted by Hexpress, 04-01-2012, 01:42 AM I have several vps still down
Posted by stoppingfear, 04-01-2012, 01:45 AM Great to see my VPS is back up as well.
Completely agree with you graywebhost; they should have sent an email update instead of twitter. (maybe they host their email system on their own server and it was also down)
Posted by Colin - GrayWebHost, 04-01-2012, 01:57 AM Good point, that is probably the reason.
Posted by MnMNmN, 04-01-2012, 09:17 AM VPS up!! thanks
Posted by ObjectZone, 04-01-2012, 02:05 PM All too often, it's misconceived that you must be a Twitter subscriber to read Twitter. This is false. You simply access a company's Twitter feed by the direct URL (http://twitter.com/jaguarpc in this example) and you can read what they've posted without having an account whatsoever. It's just a "micro-blog".Quote:

For companies who want to maintain an alternate means of reaching customers when all other methods are unavailable, a Twitter feed can be invaluable as a backup, but only if the customers are aware of it so make sure they can find it with search engines, and provide links on the site and common e-mail broadcasts.

Posted by christiwilsonc, 04-01-2012, 07:16 PM I think kpmedia knows how twitter works
He probably belives, just as I, that he doesn't live and die by twitter, facebook and other popular social media. Email is an invaluable source of communication and should be used first and foremost when a provider needs to communicate with their clients. If a client is unaware of a problem, how is a client to know to search out twitter, if they don't live "in the twitter bubble"?
Seems like jaguarpc is having a few problems as of late. I know they are a quality provider so I have faith they will have all if it sorted out soon. Sometimes, when it rains, it pours.
Posted by Hosting42, 04-01-2012, 10:31 PM Hello,
It looks like JaguarPC is currently running at it's fullest at this time. Although, JaguarPC's servers are very durable and they are always working with their clients to provide service with excellence. I currently have many servers with JaguarPC and they have proved alot in the many months i've been with them, from basic questions to implementing new security measures they were there with me. Although, like there support had told me earlier in the year. "It's technology, and sometimes it does fail or need human help in order to succeed."
I thought i'd share that with you guy(s). Have a wonderful rest of your day.

Posted by kpmedia, 04-02-2012, 02:32 PM I think there's a big difference between fair criticism (2+ hours) and whining (5 minutes). Plus I thought the purpose of the outage/updates forum is for awareness, not complaining/reviewing. If 5 minutes kills your business, get a dedicated HA cloud at a premium datacenter.

Posted by kpmedia, 04-03-2012, 02:47 AM I have 7 downtimes total from 3/31 to 4/3. The one that started this thread was about 1 hour, and attributed to errors one the network (not with any of the servers). The others were between 3 and 6 minutes long. That's likely a datacenter error, outside JPC's control. In fact, I tracedrt'd a VPS, in addition to JPC's own site, and each time the failure was at Total Server Solutions.
Look at this fubar routing once it enters the datacenter:This needs to be fixed, surely, but step off the JPC-sucks bus first.Code:12 46 ms * 41 ms 67.199.136.189 13 30 ms 33 ms 29 ms abte2-1.10g.coloat.cust.atl01.mzima.net [67.199.136.182] 14 132 ms 129 ms * te2-3.aa.atl.coloat.com [206.220.172.6] 15 59 ms 41 ms 43 ms ae1-213.atl11.ip4.tinet.net [173.241.130.53] 16 * * 140 ms total-server-solutions-gw.ip4.tinet.net [173.241.130.54] 17 * * 122 ms ae1-213.atl11.ip4.tinet.net [173.241.130.53] 18 * * * Request timed out. 19 198 ms * 204 ms ae1-213.atl11.ip4.tinet.net [173.241.130.53] 20 * * 332 ms total-server-solutions-gw.ip4.tinet.net [173.241.130.54] 21 * * * Request timed out. 22 * * 490 ms total-server-solutions-gw.ip4.tinet.net [173.241.130.54] 23 * * * Request timed out. 24 * * * Request timed out. 25 * 455 ms 439 ms ae1-213.atl11.ip4.tinet.net [173.241.130.53] 26 2719 ms * 31 ms static-X-X-X-X.nocdirect.com [X.X.X.X]
Place blame* where it belongs.
* Even then, it can be hard to track down troublesome routers when the problem is intermittent.
So it's still hard to "blame" anybody, assuming they're doing their jobs.

Posted by jaguarserg, 04-03-2012, 06:53 AM There is a routing loop between some routers which belong to to the service providers through which the packets are routed to our servers. This is mainly related to not-fully propagated routes across the service provides around the world. Thus if a packet goes through the network which does not have updated records, it loops until the TTL of this packet is expired.
We are working on this issue along with the DC techs and will try to get it resolved as quick as possible. The updates will follow on our forums.
The network loop is noticed through nLayer, Tinet.net and perhaps others are involved. That means if packets from your end-devices are routed through these carriers, the packets will be looped until TTL of the packet is expired.
We still work along with the DC techs to get this resolved but everything is fine inside our network. We just need the routes to get fully propagated to other service providers around the world.
Posted by Hexpress, 04-03-2012, 06:57 AM I hope the problem is resolved quickly, this is tiring for our customers.
Posted by Jag, 04-04-2012, 01:30 AM We have added more links and capacity in recent weeks. I'm discussing this with our techs and engineers, there should be no lingering effects besides a faster network. This never should have happened, and nothing should still be happening. Definitely open tickets if you havent already.
There was indeed some emergency network maintenance that took place this weekend that took down parts of the network. This is the first time in a long long many years we have had the network take down even our own site.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Posted by Dan_Gacct, 04-05-2012, 04:33 AM Looks like the issues have appeared once again, some IP's are responding but the majority are down. The JaguarPC site is down once again so not possible to open any tickets, although on past form I doubt it would do any good
Posted by solutionguy, 04-05-2012, 04:52 AM Hi,
JaguarPC seem to have had another major outage right now, their website is unreachable, phones don't seem to get anywhere from UK. Any idea what's wrong? A power outage? Network outage? Any tips would be appreciated.
Regards,
Abbas
Posted by Loon, 04-05-2012, 05:11 AM All fine from here, UK also.
Posted by kpmedia, 04-05-2012, 05:26 AM It's a network outage -- it started on 3/31, and has been repeating itself intermittently since.
I think it's at their upstream/DC, not in the Jag network itself.

Posted by Flapadar, 04-05-2012, 07:24 AM Fine from the UK and DE.
Posted by kpmedia, 04-05-2012, 08:26 AM From what Jag said yesterday, it's only affecting traffic that goes out on certain carriers. I would get alerts on one of my monitoring servers in NA, but not in Europe -- and vice versa.Quote:

Not too sure if this is legitimate but it seems like a fair compensation.
I wasn't going to claim it but I think with all the downtime throughout this month (3-4 times?) I might give it a try.
Posted by BeZazz, 04-09-2012, 11:28 AM That was for their VPS downtime though and not the network time.Quote:

Posted by MrShades, 04-09-2012, 02:34 PM That compensation was for downtime on one of our UK servers. If you still are having troubles with your VPS, please open a support ticket.

Posted by stoppingfear, 04-09-2012, 04:01 PM Ah yeh, Just searched up their SLA:Quote:
Originally Posted by BeZazzThat was for their VPS downtime though and not the network time.I guess that's the compensation; from the ticket response I got:Quote:
If network downtime occurs the customer will be credited 10x (1000%) of the downtime as recorded by the support ticket and confirmed problem to the resolution, up to 100% of the customer's monthly fee. If the network is out for 1 hour, we will credit you 10 hours of downtime. In this instance we divide your monthly payment by days of the month, divided by 24hrs a day to find an hour rate. That amount will be credited to your account towards your next invoice. Quote:
After the end of the month we can evaluate the total downtime and issue a credit as per the SLA. Thanks for your patience and please let us know if we can be of further assistance. So Let me know if I got this right:Quote:

Assuming a $72 VPS
72/720= 0.125
0.125*10=1.25
1.25*1 hour downtime = $1.25
1.25*2 hour downtime = $2.50
1.25*3 Hour downtime = $3.75
1.25*4 Hour Downtime = $5.00
