ResellersPanel.com VPS

Posted by GhostHost1, 03-21-2012, 11:49 AM
FRI 3-16-2012 | We have several servers with resellerspanel.com. Today has been our first bad experience. We've lost 2 clients on a VPS due to the server outage going up and down for over 12 hours now. The VPS and control panels of shared servers have been down for a total of 11 hours today. The other hour the servers showed promise of coming up again only to go down again. I'm told its system wide, but I haven't read anyone else commenting on all this down time. Can anyone shed some light on this nightmare downtime today?

Over the weekend 3-17-2012 - 3-18-2012 no problems.. Server up! Load sitting between 0.50 - 1.75

MON 3-19-2012 | resellerspanel.com | another entire day of being down again. The servers come up for 5 minutes, then down for 2 hours at a time. Asked Help Desk what is going on, will not elaborate. We have a VPS and 3 shared enterprises. All down then coming up every 2 hours or so. Does anyone have any answers as to what is going on at resellerspanel.com This is day two of this headache. We've already lost 2 clients. Would like to keep remaining.

TUE 3-20-2012 | resellerspanel.com | Another day of high spikes and slow VPS server performance and response.

WED 3-21-2012 | resellerspanel.com VPS crawls with high spikes at 15+. Help desk states, admins still looking into problem. What a shame. Can you say OVER-SELLING? Should I just buy another VPS and move everything over? Any input or suggestions would be appreciated..

WED 3-21-2012 | 6:00 PM EST | resellerspanel.com VPS crawls with high spikes and server access issues. We can't work on sites or get email, server is crawling. Help desk states, admins are working on the problem. In a matter of days, this will effect our SEO sites since the bots can not scan websites. In effect, this 6-10 day outage will shut us down as a hosting reseller company. We really like resellerspanel.com but at the cost of losing the clients we worked so hard to acquire and our business.
If someone knows how to reach someone past the helpdesk ticket system that would be great. Someone who can help please!

Hello GhostHost1,

I'm sorry your having all these issues with them at this time. I wouldn't jump to conclusions on what the problem is yet, as you actually don't really know. Mentioning overselling is a big thing, I'm not saying they aren't, or that they are, I'm just stating it could be a few things that could not be that.

You said that the VPS became un-accessible at all for periods of time, then came back online, when it came back online, did you run any tests? You said it's having high spikes, what do you mean? By the loads by doing such things as 'uptime', and seeing the load averages? It's hard to tell. With Virtual Servers it could be someone abusing the resources on the node, which is causing problems for you, or it could be a attack placed against your server, or the node, or even another customers, many of many things. There isn't really much we would be able to do to help you trouble-shoot the issue.

The best thing for you to do right now is wait for them to tell you what is wrong or submit a ticket as there website is loading and working fine, I would either state to them, calm as possible, demanding and saying negative things to them, even though your upset, is not helping making them work to resolve it any quicker, but ask them either a ETA, or what's the issue, or to move you to another node were your sites and server can operate smoothly. I would also submit a billing ticket about some credit or a refund for the month because of the down time.

If that doesn't work, Do you have backup's of your server? When running a web-hosting business you should take daily backups of the server, or of at least the company's data, and weekly backups of your clients, and if you do, maybe try grabbing a backup server that your able to just restore your clients data on for a temp. solution until the server is fixed or resolved with resellerpanel.com. That way you do not lose any more clients due to the down time and your able to put your websites back online and restore there data with the backups.

Have you tried contacting them via Phone instead of Ticket or Online Helpdesk?

Hello p0go!

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my post in great detail! I apologize if my post gives the impression of being negative, upset and not being patient with resellerspanel. I think after 6 days of this headache, anyone else would be very upset.

We already lost 2 clients who we know are shopping for another web host, they actually told me. We tried to explain to clients, that these things happen, just be patient, but the clients don't want to hear about it.

We don't have "quantity" clients, we have "quality" clients. Our clients are about all about organic positioning, reliable website serving and reliable e-mail serving. We have about 10 accounts on this VPS with nothing fancy at all. No databases, No Customizations. Simply HTML.

We were running problem free for about 6 - 8 months. We hardly access WHM, accept to add new clients (simple process). We don't perform tweaking or anything like that. There is no server customization at all. A Plain vanilla VPS server.

As you mentioned, we did get a credit for the 6 days, and I truly - truly appreciate that from resellerspanel. But with no clients, the credit does nothing for us. We were informed that they plan on performing a VPS server upgrade, but did not specify pertaining to what? however that was 6 hours ago, and still server response crawls with server load averaging 15-25.

We simply can not work. We can not access websites. We can not sell or serve clients their e-mail. There is an approximate delay of 10-15 minutes for each request to the server.

To simply acquire VPS WHM Login takes 10 minutes.

ETA? Last ticket 2 hours ago, help desk stated they were working on it at that very moment.

As of this writing, we are still load averaging at 35 - 50 spiking.

Lastly, we don't want to look for another host. We like resellerspanel.com, but we have to think about the clients on that server and how we can serve them best before they all leave.

As you could imagine, these customers (after 6 days) are frustrated and upset. That resonates to us. I'm sorry if I conveyed that in any posting.

We know servers have issues. But in today's world you would imagine the problem could or would be resolved in a timely manner.

We are in hopes that someone with real power at resellerspanel.com reads this to address our VPS server issues.

I tried the telephone, but was told they are working on it.

Thanks again for your response, input and suggestions!

Uh. After reading this, I am just slighty confused. Can I get a cliff to the story? I've only seen good reviews on RP. Looking at they're plans, It does not they are overselling much compared to others.

We're experiencing VPS Web Hosting problems for 6 days. But we love resellerspanel. Overselling is speculation.

THU 3-22-2012 | 6:23 AM EST | This is day 7 of VPS issues with resellerspanel. We were told there needed to be a hardware upgrade yesterday and was told it would be fixed over night. However, nothing has changed. Server has gone down totally now.

We've been with resellers panel for almost 10 months and never had a singled out down issue before. It was usually system wide which was not related to our VPS or other servers. We spent over $3G already with resellers panel, so we can't figure out why we are not getting some attention. This problem should have been escalated by now, but it hasn't..

We like resellers panel and don't want to leave.., but don't know what to do. 7 days of the same problem.

Looks like our old VPS is back up with an average load of .15 .25 .88 . Up and running correctly! We've been up for 30 minutes and We're hoping it's stable. Speed is back to normal. Thank you resellerspanel!
