Posted by myhken, 03-19-2012, 08:20 AM |
Hello.
My VPS I have at A7GZ went down more then two hours ago. Before it whent down, I did monitor the load on the server and here is the numbers:
Quote:
Load Averages: 4.38 3.26 2.28
Load Averages: 5.46 3.80 2.54
Load Averages: 6.11 4.74 3.13
Load Averages: 7.14 5.31 3.44
Load Averages: 9.10 6.47 4.05 (I can't do anything on the server now)
Load Averages: 11.19 7.76 4.73 (I lost my SSH connection now)
Load Averages: 12.35 8.76 5.28 (I lost the WHM access also. So no I'm cut off the server.
Then it got back for 5 minutes, and then the load hit new highs:
Load Averages: 12.94 10.06 8.28
Load Averages: 13.05 10.67 8.63
Load Averages: 13.70 13.51 10.34 (all communication was broken after the last load numbers)

I can not connect to the VPS with SSH or WHM. I can not access HyperVM control panel.
When I trace the IP I can see that I'm using
Quote:
IP Location: United States United States Chicago Singlehop Inc
ASN: AS32475
Resolve Host: server2.a7gz.com
IP Address: 184.154.22.90

Anybody else have problems with their service at A7GZ?
Of course no reply from support, more then two hours after I started a HIGH priority ticket about the problem. |

Looks like IO lock. Either their drive's failed, or someone on the box was heavily overusing IO. |

After 4+ hours the server is still down, and no reply from A7GZ support. I was sure they offered fully managed service and 24/7/365
Online support - it say so on their website. |

Me also. Same node I think, I can ping tracert thomas81.com but hypervm everything is not working to restart it.
I submit high priority ticket. SMS them, they replied on the ticket they are looking at it. |

As far as i know this company. This is one-man show or one-man army. He came online once a day, check his services and tickets.
Best of luck...................... |

This was just matter of time. "I told you!"
Their services are not even worth for testing purposes of cPanel, much less for production servers. |

Of course I have nothing important on the server, in fact, I have nothing on the server. Only using WHM from time to time, and using SSH and the TOP command for monitoring the load on the server.
I have the server for one more week, so I will monitor the server one more week.
My VPS is now up

Even my VPS is on server2. It was down for for few hours. But, I guess this is the first time it has been down since I moved to them, its been a month. None can beat their price! |

Moved to him..it's only one man running this "company". And what do low prices has to say, when you get crappy service and oversold servers? And almost no support. |

I had received a reply from support ticket why server was having high load. They found out one VM running torrent which they do not allow and suspended his account.
Hopefully the server will be working well long not much downtime. |

I haven't had any bad experience from him yet. 99% of the time my load stays below 1.5 (occasional spikes, but never above 5), I am using Nginx+Apache+Varnish+eAccelerator. My website was ranked well below 90k in the world by Alexa. So, it gets a good deal of visitors. I wouldn't complain getting a great deal of resources for a low price. I have been using this VPS for a month now, the only downtime was yesterday. I had earlier used VPSLatch (moved after Adam sold it), HostV, Jumpline. Atleast had 15 hrs of downtime in a month with my previous hosts. May be because I was using only 1.5-2GB RAM earlier, now with A7GZ I am using 5GB RAM and I am happy. Just my opinion. |

Hello.
It seems your not the only one here having issues with this provider and upset with the outcome and how things are handled and managed with these guys. My suggestion after reviewing and reading many not so positive threads and reviews about these guy's is to pack up and find a new provider that is able to meet your needs and requirements much better then the service being provided here.
I don't have any personal experience, but I have worked with someone that is also a member here that had service with them to try to help them resolve there problem when they were having a issue, and it was very poor performance, maybe it was the node they were on, but it was almost unusable, luckily we were able to retrieve his data and he later canceled and purchased new services elsewhere.
It would be nice to see some positive reviews and feed back about these guy's, I always' hate to see when a business has a problem or unsatisfied customers, it always sucks for the business, and for the customers having the problems. At first, when you see a few here and there mentioning, it's iffy, because it could of just been a slight issue, or just not the right provider for them, but when it's being a couple page long thread, and a discussion through out the day, and more then one thread at not only here at WHT, but other places also, there must be something going wrong that's not being resolved to improve it.
@numbskullz, You said no one can beat the price of these guy's. I agree there might not be other providers out there that can beat the price they are offering, but I do know of others that can beat the service being provided? Take my friend for a example.. he tried them out, had 4 down times in 21 day's, his first month of being with them, stuck it out and tried to keep it going as they were minor outages few hours, no longer then a day, then he had about a 72hr outage and when it was brought back online, the node was having very poor performance, worse then prior to the recent outage, and wasn't reliable at all. That should also raise a red flag to you, if they are able to offer amazing, and very low prices that other providers don't do, there must be something up. Either overselling, or not much reliable.
I'm not stating there terrible. Just I do recommend for the OP to maybe look into a new provider for the issue he is having, and the others having the multi. down time reports with these guys.
Good luck, I hope they are able to resolve it and turn it around. |
