TMZ Hosting Down and My Website is Hacked
Posted by subodhjain, 02-23-2012, 07:04 AM |
Their website is down and my website is hacked. I have a ticket that has not been responded to in 5 hours.
This is my first experience with TMZ Hosting and so far they are performing absolutely terribly. |

Hello,
TmzHosting is up and running without any issues including all services. Please shoot me an e-mail at daniel @ tmzhosting.com so I can take a look at this for you.

Hi,
I am not sure exactly what issue you are experiencing.
1. Your website is up and running without any issues and I am not seeing signs of it being hacked. You can check this screen shot: http://screencast.com/t/qejmbRxBj
2. All of our corporate websites and client areas are up and running without any issues.
Please shoot me an e-mail with more information, so I can find out what exactly is wrong, because at the moment everything seems just fine.

I have e-mailed you.
TMZHosting was NEVER down, nor any of our corporate websites. I am assuming you were temporarily blocked by our firewalls if you had a few failed login attempts.
Shoot me an e-mail so we can find out what the exact issue is.

I am glad.
Just to clarify a few things in this thread:
1. Our websites were never down. The client tried to login into his account a few times with a wrong password which blocked him from our network, hence why he could not access any of our corporate websites.
2. Two of his websites were hacked because his WordPress scripts were out of date, and so were MANY others. This is most likely the reason why his websites were hacked.
Thankfully, unlike other hosting companies we make daily backups of all of our clients data and we were able to restore to the latest version of his blog that was not hacked.
I hope this clears it up for everyone .

To confirm, your firewall will block a client from your whole network (including your main site and support site) just because of multiple failed login attempts?
IMHO the normal practice is to only block the IP from that particular server where the failed login attempts occur and not the whole network. |
