Posted by multiplecloud-zid, 02-14-2012, 02:36 AM
I am customer at hostpolar

network packet loss/down for over 24 hours and counting with hopeless. I cannot connect to everything of my vps. ticket only have one reply "checking on it" online chat likely outsourced who do not know anything about their server

So pls be aware abt this provider, as they are start to suck now.

Is anyone use hostpolar (node vps01) have problem like me?

Hello,

We have one VPS with Host Polar and it is down since 2 days because of Ethernet card issue. I have contacted support team > 10 times to get proper response. But each time they said, we will update you in ticket but I never got proper response. Even they do not provide server backup.

MOST UNRELIABLE service provider ever I had.

Never go for this provider !!!

Thanks,

Dhaval

I disabled my HostPolar VPS in my monitoring tool because it was hard fails for the past 48+ hours. It's just a panel/OS testing box for me, because I realized they could not be trusted after the wiping of my VPS last year, and absolutely ridiculous retarded answers given by the support techs in chats and tickets.

When it goes down -- which is quite often -- I don't even bother sending in tickets. I already know that I'll just get stupid replies anyway, and it's a waste of my time.

Ever since Altushost bought this in host in August 2011, it's been horrible. They started to suck a long time ago. My service was prepaid for a full year, which I why I even have the VPS.

The previous owner of HostPolar now owns HostOrca, and my test-box VPS there runs fine.

48h+ here as well... and counting.

The server died sometime on Monday p.m., and it's now early Friday a.m.

I think I know what "POLAR" means now:
- Pathetic
- Offline
- Lousy
- Altushost
- Ripoff

Oh well.

You weren't responsible with picking a good provider. Look at their cms, completely un branded, terrible code and layout where they tried to hack up the whmcs footer. I smell un professional provider from 10 routers away.

Oh, no doubt! It was just a low-cost dev sandbox for me.
I didn't let real sites go anywhere near that trainwreck. Others weren't so lucky.

Issue will be resolved today.
And all clients who were hosted on this node will get 1 month free.

Why resolution of this problem taking too long?
Because this node is hosted in old DC rented by own owner of HostPolar. We didn't moved node under our colocation since it would cause IP changes and downtime. However, we now see that we were wrong. Current provider is very slow with resolution. And there is nothing we can do from Europe to speed up this.
We will move all nodes to managed colocation asap. So even if such issue happen it will be resolved within few hours not within few days like in this case.

After more than 10 days of problems, i kept on sending tickets every day about the issue, which now is supposed to be "resolved" but my servers are not turning on.

To give you an idea of how bad their support is, I asked them to fix the situation 4 days ago, and they didn't even answer once. This is the last conversation i had with them via online chat:

Call accepted by operator Representative. Currently in room: Lucacri, Representative.

Representative:
hi
Lucacri:
Hello
Lucacri:
View Ticket #154181
Lucacri:
are you guys even working anymore?
Lucacri:
HELLO?
Lucacri:
not even answering??
Lucacri:
I will cancel my servers soon. Your company is a joke
Lucacri:
and I'm going to WebHostingTalk right now to leave a bad review

Representative has left the conversation. Currently in room: Lucacri.

Incredible.

I got my data and filed a complaint with PayPal to get my money back for last month's and I went with VPS6.net where Chris Parr has helped me very much along the way and everything is back up with them. They offer competitive prices and really good customer service so far and I started backing everything up...

You are not alone in your disgust for HostPolar.
A summary of my experience is here:
webhostingtalk.com - /showpost.php?p=7976344&postcount=34
I can't directly link to it due to my noob status here...

Given the fast sale of HostPolar to AltusHost, I will never consider doing business with the original owner of Hostpolar either.

The nightmare could be caused by immature teenagers and post teenagers (20 some) are running hosting business at USA which still have not understand good customer service and reputation. This young teenager kid Justin Drago based on http://www.lowendbox.com/blog/hostpo...s-in-new-york/ and http://cluelesshosts.com/all-things-justin-drago/ still around eighteen almost the same age as Justin Biber. Maybe these teenager want to be like another Bill Gates but lack the maturity of Bill Gates in running business in his young age.

Everyone needs to start somewhere, so I am willing to give the original owner of HostPolar the benefit of the doubt. Websites such as lowendbox.com and cluelesshosts.com seem to bring out the worst comments about providers. While there may be some truth to the comments, they do not tell the whole story.

In my opinion, the original owner of HostPolar made his biggest mistake when he sold to AltusHost. They are the real villains here, mainly due to their incompetence and lack of real customer service.

Would I do business with the original owner of HostPolar again? Probably not, but that is a lesson I learned the hard way and no doubt he will be reaping the consequences for some time as well.

As for me, I have moved on and am very happy with HawkHost.com. They are a real class act.

I will no longer be beating the dead HostPolar horse....

I briefly did business with HP and the original owner. Very nice guy and quite knowledgeable, but...it was just one guy. I think he eventually burned out. A shame.

Please know your information before stating anything! This is completely ridiculous! I haven't owned HostPolar in over 8 months! Just because some random person decided to target me off "Cluelesshost.com" doesn't mean I don't know anything. If you ask many people on here who were past clients, I would say 9/10 were happy. Please don't slander my name or business if you have no reason to.

Jageo and Raindog, it is people like you that I really admire and appreciate. You don't understand how much it means for you both to chime in here just for being past customers. Many skew me out to be some "idiot", all because of my age. People do start somewhere and just because you are a certain age doesn't mean you have "x" amount of knowledge.

Thanks!
