Wired Tree down [new issue]

Posted by Awesys, 01-06-2012, 08:56 PM
I am currently having problems connecting, to Grove too.

Servers are responsive to ping and simple HTML websites load fine, but cannot reach websites utilizing databases, including cPanel.

Will be reporting in Grove as soon as I can get in...

Posted by whitevitz, 01-06-2012, 08:58 PM
wiredtree.com is loading very slowly and I cannot go to any of my sites or login to grove

Posted by Awesys, 01-06-2012, 08:59 PM
I lied about the HTML websites, may have been cached on my browser. Cannot access. Email connections (IMAP) also down.

Posted by diesel12, 01-06-2012, 09:03 PM
We're also unable to connect to WT and our server is also unreachable .... we're on West Coast of US, btw .... if that helps.

Posted by PCplayground, 01-06-2012, 09:03 PM
Same here, server down, all sites offline, can't access grove panel.

It's not just you! http://grove.wiredtree.com looks down from here.
Been offline for about 15 minutes so far.

Oddly enough I can access WHM, and it shows all services up.

Posted by BrettB, 01-06-2012, 09:06 PM
Seems like it might be a network issue -- I'm getting huge packet loss.

Posted by bear, 01-06-2012, 09:09 PM
Split this to it's own thread from an older issue.

I don't appear to be able to access WiredTree at my location I pasted a Traceroute below.

Well, I just received a number of emails complaining about how slow things are running, and I haven't been able to access any of my sites. So sounds like there may be some network issues.

However, I can browse WHM like it's nothing, there's no hangtime or anything abnormal... except the load averages are lower than I've ever seen.

Posted by diesel12, 01-06-2012, 09:13 PM
Wiredtree.com is reachable for us now, Grove and our server are not.

Posted by DimeNOC Clayton, 01-06-2012, 09:14 PM
Looks like the phones are overloaded as well, can't get through.

Posted by WiredTree Zac, 01-06-2012, 09:15 PM
We are aware and are working on it. No need to call.

Posted by imthebest, 01-06-2012, 09:16 PM
not loading at all for me

Please update us when the issue is resolved.

Thanks!

Posted by DimeNOC Clayton, 01-06-2012, 09:19 PM
What if I was actually calling for another reason?

Posted by imthebest, 01-06-2012, 09:20 PM
Guess that you'll need to wait until this problem is solved. They all must be busy trying to fix this.

Posted by stormy, 01-06-2012, 09:24 PM
I just got some "server up" alerts from Pingdom. I hope the network is on its way back.

Posted by PCplayground, 01-06-2012, 09:30 PM
Almost seems like it's a problem related to port 80, if such a thing is possible. I've been able to receive emails through the server, access WHM, FTP, and SSH.

The only thing I can't access is the actual websites.

Posted by imthebest, 01-06-2012, 09:33 PM
when was the last downtime of wiredtree and how much time it took them to get back?

Posted by UnderHost, 01-06-2012, 09:36 PM
Some servers seem to be back online as we talk.

It seems like they usually come back online in an hour or so, but it all likely depends on what exactly the issue is. It's only been about 50 minutes so far.

I was able to load one of my forums very briefly and surprisingly there's been a few posts made throughout all of this downtime.

Posted by stormy, 01-06-2012, 09:44 PM
It's up and down. For me, it's affecting all ports. I have Pingdom monitoring IMAP as well and that was the first to go down.

Posted by Awesys, 01-06-2012, 09:48 PM
Mine is back up now. 43 minutes of downtime according to Pingdom.

The longest downtime was 43m on 2012-01-06 17:56:36 (Mountain Time).

Still a little bit slow though.

Posted by Yogesh Sarkar, 01-06-2012, 10:02 PM
Mine is still down, can't access grove either.

Around the same period last years they got few downtime caused by DDoS hope it won't turn in 1 month of constant problem like last years and they have that fixed tonight.

Posted by Awesys, 01-06-2012, 10:07 PM
Mine is back to being inaccessible again too... I'll wait some more on this.

Posted by stormy, 01-06-2012, 10:07 PM
Some information from WT would be really welcome.

Our WiredTree.com-based dedicated server just came back on-line.

Posted by Khattak, 01-06-2012, 11:17 PM
Still down, its awful really. That is were there is a big difference between wiredtree and softlayer, softlayer is awesome i never faced any issue with softlayer network in 6 years and here i have started my second month and its already is a huge downtime.

Posted by lardog, 01-06-2012, 11:18 PM
Down for me too. I cannot access grove or my server

Posted by Awesys, 01-06-2012, 11:24 PM
Mine seems to be stable and up again... but still waiting on their final word.

The last tweet was 27 minutes ago:
wiredtree: Still working on it, I apologize for the issues and that there isn't much more I can relay right now.

Posted by WiredTree Zac, 01-06-2012, 11:32 PM
All client servers have network connectivity fully restored now. If you are having any issues reaching your server please call us or open a ticket. We will be posting a full Reason for Outage report on Monday in Grove. We apologize for the issues. If you wish to file an SLA request, please make sure to read: http://www.wiredtree.com/legal/sla.php

Posted by Awesys, 01-06-2012, 11:45 PM
Thanks for keeping us updated during the outage, and getting it resolved!

Posted by ABBB, 01-06-2012, 11:47 PM
Thanks for getting it resolved as quickly as possible

Posted by WiredTree Zac, 01-06-2012, 11:51 PM
You're welcome, sorry it took so long! We'll be looking at everything we can do to avoid situations like this in the future.

I am looking for a dc that is most reliable in terms of uptime, I am long time WT customer and whenever they got a down time it goes to several hours and I remember the whole day down time too.

Which DC is the most reliable in uptime as well as affordable?

Posted by heartcore, 01-07-2012, 03:07 AM
We've been running dedicated servers for ten years now. I don't know of a provider who hasn't experienced some downtime, at least one we can afford. We've been with WiredTree for a couple of years now. They're certainly not perfect, but they're the best we've found, all things considered. No plans to move to grass that appears to be greener.

Posted by CBSBI, 01-07-2012, 03:57 AM
I have been using Wiredtree for the past year and have been happy with them. They have my money and future business.

Posted by Host-Shield, 01-07-2012, 05:56 AM
Wired tree usually has great uptime, hope this gets resolved soon, but it loads fine for me.

Posted by Yogesh Sarkar, 01-07-2012, 08:03 AM
Don't care about SLA credit, just make sure that the issue is narrowed down and guidelines are in place to avoid this from occurring in future.

Posted by perfectstrangertou, 01-09-2012, 06:12 AM
outages suck
who doesn't have them?

wt has a good record

i've yet to see anyone meet the services & price that warrants a move.
