gg-webhosting.net Offline for 24hours......
Posted by HostWinds, 10-07-2011, 02:12 PM |
gg-webhosting.net, is currently offline, we use some of their WHMCS modules and have not been able to use them since their servers have gone offline, Sent a PM to James but have not heard a response. |

They have no support numbers, and seeing as their servers offline, I would assume they cant receive emails either. No updates from facebook or twitter. |

Another hosting scammer I guess, now I think twice about cheap hosting providers. They start with great support, then disappear. |
Posted by BirchHosting, 10-10-2011, 03:38 AM |
I hope its just a technical issue as our modules are not working either. |
Posted by Ashley-S, 10-10-2011, 02:32 PM |
I also hope it's a technical issue as well, I guess we shall have to wait and see. If they are not back up in the next 7 days, it looks like I'll be cancelling the subscription for the Abuse Meter module I have with them... |

Woah, I cannot believe they are still down, Too bad he has privacy protection on the domain |

That's called a stranded investment... |

I agree, their modules are great, especially their abuse monitor, and I was extremely interested in their forced ads module in development as well... |

I felt they were good, that's why I bought them but such a long period of non-availability renders them useless and it shows that the whole setup is just too vulnerable to be practical any longer. |

Well this what i got?
you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons: |
Posted by Sparrow-Sean, 11-01-2011, 01:01 AM |
This is quite irritating, you spend money on a service outright and they simply run away, damn you James.
They had some great modules we used, now none work because they rely on the licensing server. |
Posted by httpEasy, 11-01-2011, 02:54 AM |
It's like they vanished from the surface of the Earth. Only trace left is the domain was renewed recently, yet anonymously. Wonder if anyone got hosted with them and could tell more, like they were being sold or something. |
Posted by Sparrow-Sean, 11-01-2011, 02:57 AM |
Would of been nice if James notified us about it, I "had" an active service with them, little behold my license is now invalid
That is quite annoying, no notifications, no nothing. |
Posted by Ashley-S, 11-01-2011, 09:44 AM |
I agree Sean, I would have thought James would have had the decency to tell us something, even if it was just to say that he's got nothing to do with the place any more because it was sold.
I also "had" an active service with them via monthly subscriptions, and expressed interest in the others that they were offering & developing.
I feel very sorry for those who have paid to own the modules, because it's a lot of money to spend on something that is now rendered useless
I wonder if anyone brought any re-sold licences from them like Softaculous & WHMCS, etc. and what's happened to those and if they've suffered the same fate as their own ones |

We could easily make do with the loss of money for the owned licenses but it is more of a nuisance for all the work that went into the setup and additional modifications that were required.
Ashley, are you sure they were sold or do you have any other information on their whereabouts? |

I'm not saying it was sold, sorry if I never made it clear enough.
What I was trying to say is that if it was sold, I would have thought that James would have the decency to tell everyone that he was no longer part of GGWH due to it being sold or something before doing a disappearing act on everyone.
I honestly hope that it wasn't sold off and that this is just some major big problem that's occurred, and that when/if James comes back, he'll be able to shed some light with us all as to what's been going on |

I thought if it were sold their site would be redirected to the new owners' but that's not the case. If they had problems of some sort they could have reacted to the PayPal claim, which they didn't in over three weeks. Only trace, as mentioned before, is the recently renewed domain. Quite mysterious but also confirmation of the correlation of longevity and reliability of a host. |

Ashley has a point here though, we *considered* reselling certain functionality scripts from James, though we never went through with it (well actually it was delayed) but luckily we never did as we would of ended up in a sticky situation on explanations to give to customers about what happened.
Regardless of that though, our scripts don't work and we paid for it outright, now that was well over 90 days ago and it is not as if I could simply open a dispute with PayPal to get my money back.
We bought two scripts from James, so I am rather annoyed that he'd just pack up and leave - in reality you cannot even trust some of the people on this forum from a bar of soap no matter how productive they are.
I have no idea if it was sold, no idea if he just left, but what I do know is I have little faith in James if he ever decides to come back. |

Yeah, for this reason we have cancelled and removed all modules from them. Personally I was scared by their bad looking site that was the only reason but seems that I was right |

Which module do you have? I did one already of a client |
