GotHost - Network Outage
Posted by codeify, 03-03-2011, 07:12 PM |
At 9AM EST GotHost.net experienced a large ICMP DDoS attack. This attack overloaded the router which feed our cabinet space.
While investigating this attack our IP Space was denounced by the main upstream provider for the Data Center we are based out of.
We are working closely with the data center to get this resolved as soon as possible.
We will be monitoring this thread to answer any questions our clients may have. |

Thanks for the update. Yeah, we were worried but site is back up now. One thing is surprising that your Twitter channel was unavailable during outage and became accessible when hosts came back up. Isn't twitter handle for updating clients about ongoing situation? Anyways, thanks for bringing it up again. |

Our site is back up and a few clients sites. Namely our shared server is back up.
The upstream has still not announced our IP space an we are working off a smaller IP space "loaned" to us by the data center.
I have no idea why the twitter would go down, that doesn't seem logical. |

Your quite welcome. We have a few spare IP's we are working with thanks to our data center. If you submit a support ticket I will see if we cant get your sites back up with a temporary solution. |

Okay, the upstream has refused to re-announce our IP space. Our data center has issued us a new block. Everyone should be back online in the next few hours. |
