www.gogax.com sit down for 3days - no contact available
Posted by mmiikkee, 03-03-2011, 11:48 AM |
This is posted for the record and general info. My site hosted with gogax has been down for 3 days and they have not responded to tickets, phone calls, live chat, and e-mail.
I am aware of the reputation gogax has and this is not totally unexpected. I see a virtually identical post back on 2/11/2011.
I've been lucky and my site has run fairly well for several years, and this down and no response thing has never lasted more than 24 hrs before.
I purchased a 'clone' backup site years ago, but this is still a pain. A cheap site with unreliable provider can work out indefinitely, but when your time in the barrel finally comes, you will pretty much feel it wasn't a worth while gamble. |

Mike,
I have been a customer of Gogax before. There's like two employees who work for that company, and they generally come online between the hours of 4pm CST - 10pm CST. I don't know why you haven't received a response yet, they might be going down. I had many troubles contacting them, and their ticket response time was about 6-8 hours. You should definitely find a new provider. I was quite unsatisfied with my level of service at Gogax, they are extremely hard to get a hold of...
best of luck to you! |

Again for the record and general info. Yesterday I got an e-mail reply from gogax support one week after I submitted a 'critical' ticket about my site being down. (and tried every way possible to contact them)
The e-mail simply said:
Hi,
Your website is online and working properly .
Please let me know if you experience any other issues
Sincerely,
Director of Operations
I've had similar experiences for a day or so, but this week down, although it has happened to me only once in over 3 years, is totally unacceptable for my site and I would think most any other kind of site. |
