VPSLatch Server down?

Posted by TGIFBids, 01-08-2011, 03:32 PM
I can't get into the client area to follow up on a ticket, and my site don't work either.

Down for me

Posted by Konrad4, 01-08-2011, 03:39 PM
It's either not loading, or loading really slow for me.

Down for me too.

For me it's loading very slow, and some pages are not loaded for timeout reason.

They were down due to a ddos attack a couple of days ago.. maybe it's happening again?

Posted by TGIFBids, 01-08-2011, 04:05 PM
I got to be honest. I'm losing my patience a little with VPSLatch. I signed up on the 5th, and had a nameserver and mysql problem. They fixed it at first, said it was good, will never happen again. Happened again. I had them fix it, and the fix they did used up 1gb of ram. Are you kidding me..So I had them just completely reinstal the OS. I don't want to leave them because of the great deal I received and the terrific support they offer, but I will not launch my site with problems like this.

You do realise Linx are having issues, which is affecting peering/etc.

I would think that the majority of customers who would complain about an outage would have no idea as to whether a provider was down or there were peering issues.

Adam has been facing an ongoing DDoS on his main site, but all VPS should be up. Hit him up on VPSLatchAdam on AIM or http://twitter.com/vpslatch

Hey there,

We have indeed been having recent DDoS attacks on our corporate website, however later on tonight we will be offloading our corporate website to a more powerful infrastructure with a hardware DDoS protected firewall to prevent this from happening in the future. Clients VPS' were not affected in this outage but only our corporate website.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused, things should be fine as of now.

Thanks for your continued trust and loyalty.

Have a fabulous weekend.

My site is still not working, but that may or may not be another issue.

It could be an issue isolated with your VPS, or it could be the firewall inside of your VPS banning your IP address for either too many connections, or too many failed login attempts.

I cannot verify or check anything since you are not responding to my private messages when I asked for a ticket ID or e-mail on file.

You took a while to respond so me, so..... Im being patient so far, and that's all I'll say.

I took a look into your account, and see your website is unavailable because your website isn't even created in your server yet. To create a cPanel account for a domain, simply go to WHM and navigate to "Create a New Account".

You can verify my claims by going to WHM > List Accounts. It yields 0 accounts.

If you require assistance doing this, our support team would be happy to teach you or create it for you.

Ya, I was told this, thank you though. My patience being lost has to do with the other problems(refer to post #9), but that appears to be resolved. Thanks again.

I would rather have you guys do it, because I don't want to risk me messing something up. I told them that, but if you could make sure they are doing that, I would appreciate it.

Also, let me apologize for the me being slightly difficult. I want to keep a good relationship with you guys, as you have top notch service.

I would also like to kindly inform you that the outage or DDoS on our website makes no affect on any client's VPS since our website is offsite and outside of our main network.

I'll be keeping an eye on your tickets to ensure satisfaction.

Thanks.

Adam, can you please look into this yourself? This the third time now.

I keep getting these emails. I don't know whetehr it is VPSlatch's fault, or namecheap.coms fault. Appears to be namecheaps, but I don't really know.

nameserver failed @ Sun Jan 9 03:30:28 2011. A restart was attempted automagically.
Service Check Method: [check command]

Cmd Service Check Raw Output: Fixed ownership on /etc/named.conf
Fixed ownership on /etc/rndc.key
Fixed ownership on /etc/rndc.conf

Well I have asked why this has happened each time now, and really haven't got a definitive answer. Ive been told it won't happen again 3 times now, and it has.. So I kind of want a detailed explanation. If you would rather go to PM that is fine.
