2host.com DOWN??? again.....?
Posted by backtogeek, 10-10-2010, 03:59 PM |
Hi All,
My VPS's just went down that are hosted with 2host, the VPS control panel (Different IP) is also down.
Anyone else got the same issue? I have complaints comming in from customers, no announcement on the 2host website and no responce to my ticket as yet |
Posted by dmtinc, 10-10-2010, 04:42 PM |
Hi,
I have the same problem, the 2host support reply this:
Quote:
We are suffering from a DDOS attack, affecting our whole network in Asheville. We are doing our best to stop it as soon as possible
|
When i trace my ips the last hop is this:
15 173 ms 172 ms 172 ms te-5-4.rtr2.avl1.netriplex.com [67.23.161.134]
I think this is a problem in netriplex again.
Regards. |

Yup got the same reply.
the odd thing is my CP is also down and according to a few different ip locator sites my cp ip address is located in a different place, which is normal i guess but kind of calls the DDoS excuse in to question?
178.18.x.x US UNITED STATES NEW YORK WILLIAMSVILLE ASHEVILLE NORTH CAROLINA
216.59.x.x US UNITED STATES MISSOURI ST. LOUIS FIBERMAX NETWORKS
hmm? |

I think all the ips of 2host are hosted in netriplex, try a tracert to your ips and check the last hop. |

Why have you started a thread suggesting 2Host is down and then confirmed in your first post that they're not???

Nope. Just checked a dedi at Netriplex and it's just fine (not through 2Host) and the last hop to it is also te-5-4.rtr2.avl1.netriplex.com [67.23.161.134]
Looks like the problem is isolated to the VPS node you guys are on? |

F-DNS: I assume the main website is hosted elsewhere, that by virtue of my post (VPS's) would indicate I am not talking about the website.
All services back online, thanks for the info regarding netriplex though. |

Then perhaps you might hit the report button and ask the mods to change the topic title (which everyone reads first) to something more accurate? "VPS at 2 Host down, anyone else?" maybe - Just a suggestion

All is ok now, but the latency is high now, from 130 ms yesterday to 380 ms now after the problem. |

Care to post a tracert and I'll see if I can compare it with a couple to our box in the same datacenter? (We don't have anything in Chile but I may be able to pick up somewhere along your route). |

I'm having issues with my dedicated server through them located at FDC. Starting to look at other hosts. I wish I would have noticed this server was at FDC before I migrated to it. Not sure what I was thinking not looking. I was much happier at GNAX! |

My vps is down at 2host. vmpanel is working but very slow ... but boot button of vps doesn't boot vps...
support don't answer ticket requests... |

I'm seeing the same thing from my VPS. Shopping around for a new dedicated server now instead. These outages are getting ridiculous. |

1 VPS Offline here too...
But my dedi from VolumeDrive will be ready soon
And good bye 2Host... |

is it a safe way to migrate full vps from one hoster to another if both uses xen? |

Just adding to the count here -- two VPSs, on different nodes, both down with 2host. |
Posted by lmn8r, 03-10-2011, 01:34 PM |
My netriplex vps is down. Control panel also inaccessible. My San Jose HE vps is up though. |

Now I can't even get to 2host.com. Not looking good. Glad I have a backup. |

same here, but my backup is too outdated |

Nearly 5 hours down ... and counting. Surely it is not usual an extended outage like this occurring on a SAS 70 Type II certified facility as Netriplex. |

I've had several multi-hour long outages with them in the past year. They always say it was a DDOS, or they say it's a "network issue" and don't give further details.
From where I'm testing, the problem actually seems to be getting worse. First thing this morning, I couldn't get to my VPS, but could get to 2host.com and could get to their VPS admin page. Now, I can't get to anything, and 2host.com doesn't even resolve anymore. |

A glimmer of hope!
64 bytes from 216.59.3.128: icmp_seq=2920 ttl=51 time=5560 ms
64 bytes from 216.59.3.128: icmp_seq=2922 ttl=51 time=3552 ms
64 bytes from 216.59.3.128: icmp_seq=2927 ttl=51 time=76.9 ms
64 bytes from 216.59.3.128: icmp_seq=2931 ttl=51 time=993 ms
Only those 4 came back so far though. My money is on another DDOS. |
Posted by dmtinc, 03-10-2011, 03:54 PM |
The same here, 5 email alerts from my vps and down again....
I really need just 5 minutes for backup all to another server
2host give us a chance! |

Dead here. However netriplex hop replying with usual latency
te-5-4.rtr2.avl1.netriplex.com [67.23.161.134] |
Posted by opdevelopment, 03-10-2011, 05:31 PM |
Got a couple more ICMP packets back
64 bytes from 216.59.3.128: icmp_seq=484 ttl=51 time=4760350 ms
64 bytes from 216.59.3.128: icmp_seq=486 ttl=51 time=4758355 ms
64 bytes from 216.59.3.128: icmp_seq=491 ttl=51 time=4753390 ms
If my math is correct, that's about 69 *minute* latency. |
Posted by dmtinc, 03-10-2011, 05:33 PM |
Nothing from here:
Packets: Sent = 1202, Received = 0, Lost = 1202 (100% loss)
|

all of my 2host VPS is down (same node)
traceroute stopped at

Yay, my VPS can't be booted. Bye 2Host |
Posted by dmtinc, 03-11-2011, 02:53 PM |
Try to reboot your VM with solusvm.... if you want "support" from 2host... you can wait...........and wait...........and wait......... |
Posted by tchen, 03-11-2011, 04:39 PM |
Is anyone on xen25 able to bring their VPS back online? SolusVM is available, but it seems detached from the actual node. |
Posted by lmn8r, 03-12-2011, 01:39 AM |
Still down at netriplex. Was up for a short while, as you can see by my traffic graph. Has anyone heard anything from 2host? |
Posted by tchen, 03-12-2011, 01:48 AM |
My node came back online 9 hrs ago and is still up. They (2Host) hadn't replied to the downtime ticket I sent, so I'm guessing they're still busy working on the other nodes. Despite them not responding, I do think they still check it. File a ticket with your node if you haven't. |

is there anyone able to connect to the vps ?
it's appears as online in solusvm but i can not ping neither log in to ssh. |

My personal VPSs with them are online. However, can't access their website and SolusVM panel...
I know they are discontinuing Asheville, NC location and moving everyone to San Jose. Not sure if this is related to that or... |

thanks for your info @quad3datwork |

just adding information to all whters.
all my money refunded from 2checkout.com and i hope no scam people again on WHT

Posted by tchen, 04-22-2011, 11:56 PM |
@pureheart, did you mean 2hourservers instead of 2host? Different provider here.
With regards to the move out of NC, I got blind-sided by it since their first series of emails missed me for some reason. It's not a spam filter problem since I get everything from them fine. Luckily, I got the second set.
You might not have been so lucky craig. Anyways, I hope you got it sorted out. |

I also only did receive the "URGENT - Node will be shutdown" e-mail. I think that "Original email is attached below" was never sent. |
