FDC Denver past 10-20 days HORRIBLE

Posted by jo2jo, 10-03-2010, 05:17 PM
I had 6 server with FDC going back about 6 - 10 months. As of this past renewal for 5 of the servers i have canceled them.

so now im at one server.

the reason, the past 10-20 days at FDC denver, dedicated server (some of mine were gigabits, some were 100mbit) has been terrible.

id say about 20% of the past 10-20days has been spent capped at 5mbit upstream. when the line is up, ive had about 10-15 outages on my servers in the past 10-20 days.

I know FDC is very budget and has no SLA, but just beware, its really gotten bad after being very good for about 3-4 months straight.

I had gotten quotes a few weeks ago from FDC for 2 servers i was going to colocate with them. NO WAY NOW, im sending them to

WholeSale Internet (been great so far). I cant wait till my box is there

FDC support does reply but their replies are really useless...its always, the network admin is working on it, we are mitigating a DDOS, or they reply as soon as the outage is over.

Yeah I think its time we put some attention to this thread. Digg Reddit......, Maybe we'll get bummers attn and find out what the real problem is. Even though its something we might already know

i hope so.

what are you alluding to as the problem though? just general over selling of bandwidth finally catching up to them?

You said it exactly. We all know they are making money. Now they just need to add more giges.....

It's a budget service and you already get way more than you pay for, if uptime is such a concern, go pay for a host that is more uptime and quality oriented.

Dude seriously get lost with your "you get what you pay for" attitude. I've seen it said for just about every host in the last 8 years Ive been a member here.
Not everybody uses these unmetered boxes for a production environment. Like myself. Having a colored name does not always make you right
And I always reserve the right to be wrong. But not in this case.
Good day....
