Continuum Datacenters down?

Posted by Packhead, 09-23-2010, 07:57 PM
I'm able to log in to my customer portal, but my server seems unreachable. It seems to get into the Ubiquity network, but then that's it.

Looks like some other servers I know hosted there are offline too. I've put a ticket in about 10 minutes ago, but no response yet.

Yeah, same here, but Tom just updated my ticket saying they're having an issue with a switch and they're already working on it, no eta yet though.

My server is unreachable too

And I just got a response...

"We currently are experiencing an issue with a Core switch and have tech's working on it now." - Tom

I've experienced the same issue and response as those above. I can reach my gateway IP though, so it shouldn't be too catastrophic.

Sigh....

Still down here, are you guys still down?

Seems to be back now.

I'm up now, too...

Wonder what happened. Three hours, longest outage I've ever had with them. Must've been something big.

Packhead et. al.,

I apologize for the issues last evening. The unscheduled outage was not wide spread and only affected a small portion of customers

We had a cabinet level core switch fail. The switch was immediately replaced, but caused an unexpected vlan issue that extended the downtime for a small group of customers.

Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions.

Tom

Thanks for the response, Tom. It makes outages more tolerable when your host communicates back to the customers that they found the exact problems and worked to fix the root cause.

Continuum has been nothing but fantastic with support, speed and reliability -- this is certainly nothing to get worked up about!
