iFuseHosting Down?
Posted by [JSH]John, 09-15-2010, 02:24 PM |
Anyone else that has a VPS with iFuseHosting having problems? I can't seem to access HyperVM or get a response from their support. The downtime has been over 30 hours so far which isn't good.
Anyone happen to have contact details for iFuseHosting? If only Dan and Liam would have known what they got their clients into... |

Yeah the details are old. Yomura never did update the contact details after they bought the company. It's not looking good since the server still appears to be offline and HyperVM is also down. |

I've just had a ticket reply from them, and unfortunately their datacentre staff turned off their servers from the power switch causing data corruption.
====
On Monday night, we had a DDoS against our London 3 site causing widespread outaging into the early hours.
As a result, the datacentre powered down a number of servers to try to alleviate the scale of the attack. But it continued into Tuesday until their network operations staff built suitable filters to clamp the incoming traffic.
Two out of nine of our UK servers are still offline with corrupted filesystems and our engineers are trying to recover as much data as possible. Unfortunately the datacentre pulled the power to the servers rather than the expected method which is to disconnect the ethernet connection.
cPanel services were running on a VPS on server 5 and a number of VPS customers on servers 3, 4, 5 and 6. Servers 4 and 5 are still down; our engineers are manually trying to recover data from the filesystem.
All our servers are RAID5 but RAID is only useful in case of disk failure, it does not prevent data corruption to the filesystem.
We will continue to recover what we can from those two servers and make it availble to you. However in the interim, I recommend that we get fresh cPanel or VPS's setup for you so you can restore from your most recent backup.

After everything I have suffered from/read about Yomura I wouldn't believe a word of this...
There are ways to mitigate against DDoS attacks and pulling a power chord is not one!
I would suspect (especially after all the Yomura press on these forums) that the DC simply cut Yomura off for non-payment of bills.
GilesA of Yomura (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/member.php?u=303101) was very active until 02/05/2010 and since then - nothing.

Again complete horse sh1t - they are not responding to support tickets so how are you supposed to get a fresh VPS provisioned?! |

I think GilesA was just trying to hang around until the sale was completed. There's been nothing but problems since iFuse was sold. |

Does anyone know anything about this? My website has been down for ages and they won't even respond to the support requests. As soon as I can access my files on there I am moving, their service is atrocious. |

It seems that all Yomura-bought companies are down now!
I filed a dispute at the credit-card processing company to get my money back. |

Thanks for the info, I'll be using another host now then, I was just hoping I could remove my stuff from iFuse |

can confirm that they are down, and permanently so it seems.
Still taking money it seems, but no answer to support emails. This is an ex-host. |
