Hivelocity - scheduled maintenance window tonight for router upgrade
Posted by HivelocityGM, 07-27-2010, 10:45 PM |
Below is a summary of the notification each of customers has already received in regards to our scheduled maintenance window tonight.
Starting at midnight tonight, we have scheduled a 3 hour maintenance window in preparation for our impending router upgrade. In order to replace our existing routers we are required to perform some maintenance work on and around our existing equipment. During this maintenance window you may notice short periods of latency. If things go smoothly with the prep work we will go ahead and begin routing traffic over our new gear. We apologize for any inconvenience this maintenance may cause you. Please know this maintenance will ultimately result in an overall stronger Hivelocity network. |

We completed our router upgrade last night around 3am. The transition from our old router to the new router went as smooth as we could have hoped. We are now routing all traffic over new gear. Our network engineers will be tweaking things throughout the day to ensure our new router is giving all of our customers the best network results possible.
We will be emailing all of our customers a full announcement soon regarding last nights upgrade and what it means for our network and future service. These are exciting times at Hivelocity! |

Steve, thanks for the updates and giving us the heads up on the changes before they were made.
I never received an alert from my monitoring company or any complaints from my users during the router changes and tweaking. The changes were done with no service disruption, which is great.
Thanks. |
