Server Down - Looking for other Managemyservices users

Posted by tom5599, 07-23-2010, 07:46 AM
Hi Everyone,

I am new to this forum. I have been a customer of Managemyservices.com for over 3 years. Yesterday my server went offline at around 3pm and has never come back online.

It has now been 15 hours and I have submitted a dozen or so help tickets and send at least that many emails.

Are there any Managemyservices user on here with the same problem?

I am very worried because I am not sure what happened. My account is paid in full for the month.

If you are fellow user of Managemyservices or managemybox please tell me if you server is working!!

Thank you,

Tom

PS: if anyone has a contact phone number for this company please post it.

Im looking for other customers of Managemyservices.com or Managemybox.com.

Our server went down 7/22 @ 3pm and is still offline. It has now been 15 hours with no reply to help tickets or emails.

Anyone else working with this company having downtime?

Any reply is appreciated.

Tom

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, but have you received a response to any of your emails or tickets?

I have looked at the whois information on the domain name, but I was not able to find a correct phone number.

Here is the phone number that came up, btu obviously is not working:

It may be time to look for a new dedicated server provider if they don't respond to your emails or tickets.

I have tried that number but it is invalid. I have sent at least a dozen email and help tickets and there has been no reply at all. I am so very afraid of this situation because my server and my back up are both with this company.

I have 260 domains hosted there and if they do not come back online I am in deep trouble.

The crazy thing is I have been with them for years and I have never had an outage like this.

It is scary to say the least. I am not sure where to turn.

Try looking at other IP addresses near yours, presumably they control the range. If you've submitted tickets, then obvious their own website is up, which means they are not entirely dead in the water. Perhaps they have multiple data centers, and yours is down? Checking IPs near yours (for example, if you have 192.168.4.68, try looking at 192.168.4.60 - 192.168.4.80 via HTTP). If others are responding, then it might just be you, or if not, they may have a whole data center/switch/somesuch down.

It is always annoying when they don't respond quickly, but what is their SLA for ticket response times?

I am sorry to hear that hopefully they reply to your support tickets

OMG - on their site it says "a Yomura Company". They have become notorious here for not answering tickets and dead phone lines. Best of luck, though.

MdHarris
My IP is 62.19.51.113

I did as you suggested and found 1 site at 62.19.51.103 and several misconfigured sites at .101, .102..etc.

However, the ips around mine and higher are all down.

Thank you for that suggestion.

That's interesting. Maybe they split a /24 across multiple data centers? Do you remember what your subnet and subnet mask was on your dedicated server?

It's also possible that they lost, say, one power strip or one rack.

The server just came back online. They have not replied to my help ticket to say why it was off for 18 hours but it is back now.

Thank you!

Thought your server came online, If your ticket is not answered even after 24 hrs, you should consider packing and moving

You might want to contact Laws about this - not sure if he owns the company any longer though.

Last activity of the member was 2 months ago. I don't think he will get lucky contacting the member that way, but its good to give it a try, nothing to lose.

Well, if he has email notification enabled, he might be prompted to login to WHT and reply to the PM. Like you said, nothing to lose.

Hello,

I got an email said "We are pleased to advise you that XVPS has been acquired by Yomura Holdings", Who is Yomura?

Not good news. Take backups of your server ASAP and move your stuff quickly. Although you paid for another month of service, I would advise you to find a new host and start migrating everything over now. Do a search on this company, it seems like companies go downhill after being acquired.

The Delaware address is a SoP and mail forwarding service.

Same as the UK address as it is a virtual office address

Also seems magmahost.com is part of the same group

Yes, thanks, they have contacted me:

Your server has been blocked and has now received listed on the ROKSO database due to your continued harboring of known spammers. You are in violation of our terms of service.

You have been repeatedly warned to resolve this issue but have failed to and just circumvented the block by moving the spammers to another IP address.

When you are ready to terminate the spammers accounts from your server, you will request your server to be reactivated and will be given 24 hours to remove them. If the reports are repeated your service will be terminated without further notice.

We do not permit our services to be misused.

- Steve

It's like a joke, I think it's a good excuse to hide their ineptitude. It's amazing because I am not spammer and I dont have customers spammers, Just one of my customers have a directory and was linking to the website of a bar that sends spam, but I have removed it .

Now I just hope they give me SSH access to remove all of my sites and move to a new server, this time a serious server.

My server just went offline about 2 and a half hours ago. I'm also with ManageMyServices. I only have a handful of domains but they are all company domains. This isn't good.

Posted by m0rtal, 08-10-2010, 03:50 PM
My server has been down for about 3 hours and no response so far. If I don't hear anything by the end of the day I'll be doing a charge back and I suggest everyone do the same if they are done for good.

Luckily I should have most of my stuff backed up but it's going to be a big hassle to move my stuff to my other server and obviously money lost due to downtime. I'm also quite pissed because I've just started up some SEO campaigns for some of the sites that are currently DOWN. Man you guys suck.

Posted by ayksolutions, 08-10-2010, 04:36 PM
Looks like it's time to move. Laws used to be active on these forums, but if he sold to Yamura, he probably won't be around.

Posted by Henrik, 08-10-2010, 05:53 PM
My server with them is down since approximately 1 hour. I tried to submit a ticket over their support system, but there isn't a way to actually create a ticket?! I can't seem to find it anyway.
