netrouting.nl completely down

Posted by Spirit, 07-15-2010, 02:27 PM
It seems like netrouting.nl and all companies based on their network (yisp.nl, weservit.nl, etc..) are atm completely down. First short downtimes appeared hours ago already.

Posted by Rens, 07-15-2010, 02:28 PM
I can confirm the Netrouting network is down. Did not receive a confirmation on the cause yet, but it looks like a Ddos. We had some packet loss, downtime is since 25min.

edit: only message that is available from netrouting is:

Back online.

Posted by mariushm, 07-15-2010, 03:25 PM
Yes.. my server went down about 20-30 minutes ago and the traffic graphs in the control panel stopped updating at 19.40 NL time.
Didn't really notice any problem before, just some very small (a few seconds) disconnects (I'm connected to server using Remote Desktop almost all the time).

ps. true, it's up as i finished this.

They are bringing the network online, so not everybody is already back online now.

Posted by Rens, 07-15-2010, 03:48 PM
Almost everything should be back up, we are for 15min now.

It seems like network still have issues ...or it's just me?

Posted by Rens, 07-15-2010, 04:21 PM
It is working (we are fully operational), but router is still struggling i think.

Posted by Savvas, 07-15-2010, 04:29 PM
We still have about 4 gigabit of incoming DDOS traffic. We're doing all we can to keep the connection as stable as possible, we're working together with our carriers to find a more stable solution.

The problems continue to present. For having supposedly 8 connections to major backbones, please explain how this continues to be a problem? I am seeing 28.3% packet loss and all traffic is going over one link as usual. My hosting provider is yisp and I am very happy with the level of support that Rens provides but netrouting.nl is really starting to make yisp look very bad. I am losing customers and I am getting a bad image for stability now. Please do something to fix this soon. I am not a new to this, I understand DDOS attacks well as I used to work for WorldCom back in the 90's before it went under.

Met vriendelijke groet,
Kaatje
CEO TGIL

No PL here, also smokeping shows normal values.

Kaatje,

Savvas and i are looking into this. It's not on all connections and we are at this moment looking at what is causing it. For example it could be that our core switch is having problems since the DDos. Would be strange, but not impossible.

Note: on average we have some packet loss 1 time per 2 hours, but it differs a lot.

Regards,
Rens Ariens

All problems are resolved, as far as i can see

Not sure if it helps, but my server at Netrouting doesn't seem to have any issues. I don't get any disconnects, uploads and transfers are as usual and so on...

There are no problems anymore. If you still have loss problems contact your supplier with a traceroute

Just for everyone's information;

We've been under attack again since 11:30 PM CET.

With changes and preventive measures taken after the last event, nearly 8gbit has just hit our network and we're filtering / processing the traffic without any loss of connectivity or packets.

Good to hear
