Hostpear website (http://www.hostpear.com) and the server I have an account on, seems to be down.

Odd. Have you tried calling them? +44.7595994120 From the WhoIs info, there was an email for http://host2x.com with seems to be a status page for the company. Best of Luck!

I had an account with hostpear for testing purposes. I was not using this account for live websites, so I didn't lost anything.

Host2x was primary a free webhosting provider. They also offered paid hosting. A few months ago they closed their business and the remaining paid users was aquired by Hostpear.

So, Host2x was shutdown as a webhost several months ago, but Host2x and Hostpear was two separate entities.
