MKOH Down

Posted by grahammm, 04-13-2010, 04:07 AM
Hi

I have a reseller account with mkoh.com, and it seems to be down. I am pretty annoyed to be frank and was wondered if what I have received is reasonable:
  • No contact from MKOH
  • Emailed support and got no reply (helpdesk is on same server as mine which seems silly for these purposes)
  • A support ticket from last week not responded to
  • No support strategies apart from an email address
  • Server has been down for probably going on 48 hours now
  • Regular times the sever goes off and it only gets sorted when I seem to email them
  • No apologies for any inconvience

Grrr, can any of you clever people, lookup who the server IP routes to as maybe the whole data centre/server (if this is a VPS) is down.

Any help always appreciated

Graham (Oh I'm running a website for a charity voluntarily, so am a little clueless compared to you people I guess )

Contact info from whois:

My Kind Of Host
8345 NW 66TH ST #7321
MIAMI, FL 33166-2626
US

Server is currently down for me, times out inside the data centre so I'd say its just that one server

I assume there is nothing I can do now, except for wait?!

Try calling them?

Hmm tried a few times from the UK and no response, I assume they've fled, considering the lack of contact

grahammm, I've been on MKOH for a number of years now. I noticed my e-mail wasn't coming in today. I am PMing you the e-mail contact information I have. E-mail was sent this afternoon about 2PM CST after I noticed it, no reply yet.

Been with them for a few years. They said the old provider was giving them problems and gave me the new server IP's which I could log into 2 days ago. I could login but since yesterday down again.

Here is the old server IP 64.27.53.42

We manage to login to cpanel and recover all our accounts. Better do it fast as I think the old server will go down soon

For those of you that don't know how to recover you data do the following;

1) Login to cpanel using 64.27.53.42:2082
2) Use the username and password for you main account or you could login to each account on its own
3) Select the backup wizzard and do a full back to the root directory
4) When you have done the backup download the file in the backup section to your desktop
5) Don't change anything with this file. This is complete with emails/databases/website etc.

You can then upload this to where ever you will be hosting again as you new provider will do a full restore.

I have tried doing a remote ftp backup. It work for a while but for some reason it won't anymore. You can try this to see if it works.

To do a ftp backup

1) Select "Remote FTP backup (Passive mode)
2) Enter email address
3) Enter remote ftp site either www.domain.com or xxx.xx.xx.xx ip address
4) Remote user name
6) Remote password
7) Port - 21
9) where you want the backup -/ = root /public_html/ with send to public_html

If this work good but stopped for me

Hope this help but suggest doing this ASAP as I think the server is not paid for and will be taken down by the data center soon.

If I am wrong sorry but MKOH is not replying to any email so rather be safe than sorry

I suggest not contacting the DC as they won't help you for security reasons. It might flag a faster removal of the server

I suggest staying away from MKOH there service is terrible and hosting even worse, my site was down for a week and no email, I sent through a support ticket and still to this day had no reply, pay alittle more and join a more reliable host. I'm trying ARVIXE and they seem on the ball

MKOH the worst hosting service I ever found in my 6 Year experience they are very non-professional when you asked them any question regarding their service and even advised them for improvement they will never answer your query I will never ever suggest anyone to host a site with MKOH.com
