Anyone else having issues accessing Burst?

All of my servers are down and can't even access their own site, yet again.

Getting about 70-80% packet loss. Rather not bother them, but has anyone heard what the cause is? |

I never receive any email updates/newsletters from Burst in regards to their issues with uptime. It feels more like a "if you don't see it, it didn't happen" approach although they do update their forum.. Doesn't help when I can't even access their website.
I sent in a ticket [again] to see what the problem is this time around. |

It looks like it's only their website that goes down. All my services are up and running... |

probably ddos again. seem to be only affecting certain subnets |

There site still loads here.
Seems like a switch somewhere acting up as other area is up and other area down... |

Must be nice to not be affected every damn night. Whenever majority of my servers are down, I know that Burst's site itself is also down (which is always the case.)

Probably a DDoS attack affecting a very small portion of clients. Unfortunately some DDoS attacks can be very large and can over load DDoS filters, happens at every datacenter. Just give the equipment some time to ward it off. |

It's another DDoS attack as confirmed by a tech that replied to a ticket of mine. |

They should really build two networks, one for DDoS prone applications and an other for normal applications. |

While it may happen at every datacenter, if it happens enough on a near daily basis then obviously something needs to be changed within the network.

DDOS isn't something that you can just switch off.
The fact they are still running the network under acceptable levels is good for them with an 11 day DDOS.
As BurstNET have said it is constant and growing, that just makes it harder and harder. |

I'm with you there.
Something tells me this isn't a DDOS, but a hardware issue. Traffic is getting to Burst no problem, and dropping from in there. |

Why dont you contact them over the phone? Lot's of people complain of downtime with them this is a lesson to learn from i guess... research a host before you sign up with them good luck on the next one |

I was being hit by the packet loss a few days ago but i put in a ticket an wala im not being affected anymore, However here is uptime for one of my nodes at burstNET

Yes, I love wasting my time dialing a number to get voicemail. It's just as effective as submitting in a ticket.

Not sure why you say that it doesn't "sound too good." If you read over this, no one is complaining about response times to tickets and/or issues with getting a hold of staff.
So if I were to call them and leave a message or just send in a ticket, the response is the same. I'm not complaining about response times here, so if that's what you thought, you're wrong. |

Im under the impression you have dialed and got nothing but a voicemail...
So in response i typed doesnt sound to good... what's the confusion? |

What didn't you understand? I'm not going to waste my time calling to leave a message when an email to them will yield the same response.
Anyway, since *I'm* a client of Burst, to get back on topic my server has had full connectivity for the past 30 minutes. Support wants a trace route as if it's an isolated incident though.. |

How do you know it goes to voicemail if you not tried dialing? Seem's like your not in a rush to get this resolved because i know damn well if my site was offline i would try every method to contact my DC.. Anyhow best of luck |

Down right now.
Can't get to support.burst.net either.
EDIT: 17:54 Australian EST. Managed to get one ping through to support.burst.net. Otherwise still failing. www.burst.net seems to be fine.
EDIT 2: 18:04 Australian EST. My own server is reachable again. support.burst.net still down. |

Gotta love these "DDOS attacks".
last one, 10 minutes, total of 30 minutes down today (since Midnight CST).
Do they even HAVE any sort of uptime guarantee, or is it "we give you what we can"? |

Burst.Net has been pretty good for me to be honest. A lot better than Quickpacket was up time wise. I needed to reboot my server a couple times a week with them. The only time Im down with Burst is when the server goes down to something like this. So cant reeeeaaalllly complain. Nothing is perfect. |

Really? I seriously have not had any problems that Ive noticed. A bit slow at times but I havent noticed any downtime other that today. |

Since I started logging these problems, there has been a total of 1hr 45 minutes of downtime due to these issues. This isn't to say that is ALL the downtime they've had in the past couple weeks, because I know I wasn't logging it all the time, lost some data, etc:

You may be correct, but also consider that Burst's transit providers likely have more aggregate capacity than Burst does. From a network hardware perspective, the further upstream from your server you go, the more robust the network hardware in terms of max pps, etc.
Hopefully they will be able to mitigate it soon. |
