DDoS Attack Impacting K-Disk

Hello,
We are seeing a massive DDoS attack on our Katana Server. Over 40 IP addresses seem to be attempting close to 500 connections each. We are working to resolve as soon as possible.

Wouldn't a few iptables rules just take care of that and it'd go unnoticed?

You knew exactly what addresses were making excessive connections and instead of mitigating you came onto WHT? Sign me right up!

Seems they were posting so that if any of their customers checked here to see why they were having problems they would find a quick answer.

You were correct with this statement. There were over 300 IP Addresses that were involved with this attack. Some were attempting over 500 Apache connections. After they were added to IPTables there will still be a period of time with inceased latency while the attack is in progress.

Was this comment really needed?

In ANY sort of outage, my primary goal is to restore services. This was being done by a Tech at the DataCenter and Myself. Of course I am also a firm believer of keeping my customers informed. I do know that several of my resellers (40+) are active members of WHT so it made sense to post something here. It was far worth the 35 seconds it took me to make this post.

Because resellers make up close to 90% of my customer base their business can take a hit for any downtime. This is why I go out of my way to also keep them informed.

Do you still want to "sign up"
