clustered.net problems?

Posted by reloaded, 02-07-2010, 01:49 PM
My servers at clustered.net (and their own website at http://clustered.net ) are offline. Anyone else having problems?

Posted by n9com, 02-07-2010, 02:01 PM
their website is down for me too

Posted by snelson, 02-07-2010, 02:10 PM
Yup, I just got a Pingdom message that it's been down about 30 minutes.

Edit: Nothing useful on their status page either - http://status.clustered.net/

hello,

yes, clustered.net and my vps (hosted with them) its down for me also.

I have checked gyron website (clustered network) and its loading fine. Does anyone has more information about this clustered outtage?

Posted by reloaded, 02-07-2010, 02:17 PM
I have no information. Their status page at http://status.clustered.net (hosted offsite) hasen't been updated either. This is very frustrating.

I've got intermittent connection to my website, a couple of pages have loaded without graphics, so i don't think its completely dead.

yes, it would be great if their update status page be updated!

also i think that it would be a good idea to the future, to also host their support desk in a offsite location.

One of my sites is now pinging but has > 80% packet loss. So I'm guessing its a network issue?

Posted by pedrojose, 02-07-2010, 02:39 PM
It looks like a network issue, because when making a traceroute i get to the datacenter ok (gyron network) and then i get time out on rounting/switching and on the end if finds my server.

So it looks like a network problem.

i understand that sometime the problem can happen, but i think that in this case clustered should be more active in informing their clients... using at least their status page.

lets keep up waiting

My VPS is experiencing heavy packet loss as well.

I hope we see a quick response tonight. I previously paid a premium with Gyron for solid network performance and they delivered very well, even at difficult times of the day. Clustered.net is priced as a premium VPS provider so I hope they have the resources to deliver the same experience.

Fingers crossed!

Still down, more than an hour now. And status page still not updated. Sucks.

Posted by pedrojose, 02-07-2010, 03:30 PM
Up again for me.

Does anyone know what was the caused of the problem?

Posted by reloaded, 02-07-2010, 03:34 PM
Yes, all up for me too, no repsonse to my support ticket, and status.clustered.net also not updated

DDOS caused the problem, they sent out an email and stated there would be a delay in answering tickets whilst they dealt with the network issues.

Which, I'd prefer them todo

Hi there,

Please accept this email as details of a network outage

DATE(S): 2010-01-07

EFFECT:

This evening between 18:00 and 19:00 we experienced high packet loss on our network. This was caused by a DDoS attack.

sorry to jump in here, as someone who is looking at moving to Clustered, is this the first downtime you've had for months?

When was the last downtime?

1 Incident of downtime doesn't put me off, as the unfortunate happens to everyone, its more how they deal with it that matters

Downtime rarely happens, think the last problem they had was November, prior to that I cannot remember the last major issue.

I worry that there support isn't that transparent, eg: no forum

Posted by pedrojose, 02-08-2010, 03:38 PM
i always had a true rock solid network / excellent support service with clustered.. but now regarding this last downtime, my only complain is the lack of information that clustered gived to the clients (their status page is still showing a 2009 downtime...)

They target a different market to those who use support forums.

I questioned them about not having a forum etc, John siad they were looking at it!

I am new to clustered.net and did not notice an outage the other day (I do need to renew ippatrol) but they did have about an hours outage in early Jan due to a faulty RAID controller, which effected my VPS.

Seems all sorted now though!

Hello,

Im a clustered client, and i think that for the market target that Clustered points, a forum is not a good / advantage.

I think that their low-profile and "private" way to work feets my needs much more than a host with all information open with foruns, etc..

I think that the main core business is servers/network/individual support.

And i think the that Clustered does the above 3 things very well.

Note: To clustered team: i dont want to say how do you manage your own company. This is just my point of view as a satisfied client

Thanks
