Voxel outage 2.41 GMT

Posted by Ravski, 01-16-2010, 11:06 PM
Anyone have any news on this? Been around 25minutes so far.

Posted by FHDave, 01-16-2010, 11:14 PM
It's dead from my end (Sprint wifi) as well as from our network.

Posted by Ravski, 01-16-2010, 11:15 PM
I don't know what it means but I can log into ubersmith and see that servers have no power (apparently)...

Voxel guys, if you're reading this, an externally hosted status page would be nice.

It is a large power outage.

Any news on ETA for fix? As if it's going to be hours I have standby servers standing by (luckily set up recently).

Why not switch over anyway? Less downtime then..

Can you please share your source of information, as that doesn't appear to jive with this statement from them (at 10:05pm EST):

We're investigating a network issue currently. We're aware of it and are
researching it now. Please do not power cycle any infrastructure, etc., as this
seems relegated to network only.

Because of DNS delays and caching. Could be more hassle than it's worth if everything is back up in 10 mins.

Scott,

We're looking into a large scale power outage. We'll update you shortly.

So at 10:05, 30 minutes into outage, they weren't aware that it was power related? That's kind of ridiculous if true.

Edit: One of our servers just came back online, and is showing:

Quote:
# uptime
22:27:25 up 92 days, 13:06, 1 user, load average: 1.67, 0.57, 0.20
If it was a power issue, it must have affected network equipment only.

I just got this though,

Scott,

I've just confirmed this is not power related, but we're still trying to source
the outage. Give me a few more minutes and I'll update you from our engineering
team.

----------

Edit: We are up now.

I can confirm that it's not a network-wide problem. Our Voxel transit at 111 8th Avenue (LGA3) has stayed up the whole time.

Us too. Still love Voxel.

Yes, our servers at lga2 were also unaffected.

It seems everything is back online now in lga6/7 as well.
