Ultrahoster.co.uk gone?
Posted by hayley2005, 10-24-2009, 05:18 PM |
Ive only been with this host 2 weeks or so, this week ive been getting mysql errors, and now today have had big downtime and their page currently says 404 "ultrahoster.co.uk"
Does this mean they are gone?
EDIT: they have now put up an annoucement http://www.ultrahoster.co.uk/ULTRAHO...SOLUTIONS.html
not sure if thats reassuring enough tbh. |

It's better than them disappearing, that's for sure. Chances are, they'll learn something out of this. |

checking their whois, looks more like their domain expired yesterday, and
they just renewed it! |

Well, at least they didn't disappear. |

Hi guys,
We're very sorry about all of this. We are still here, and no we WON'T disappear.
We've had a pretty rough week from a few server errors, and today all was revealed. As stated on the site, the RAM on the server failed, along with other software screw ups which caused the server to constantly go up too 100% load and MAX RAM usage. Eventually after a few hours, the server just failed, along with corrupting data of accounts. Not to worry, everything is SAFE!
As of now, we've had the server's back up and running. The server is up if you vist the IP for your account along with /~{account-name} your website will be available. We're still recovering many of the accounts, and fixing up the server settings as our backups just don't seem to want to be on our side. DNS isn't functioning properly due to this. So once that's done, we're up and running.
Very sorry for the lack of updates. Atleast we found this thread.
Also, No our domain has expired, the only reason it says last updated, is because we've put the temporary notice on another server for the public to view. So the NS's for the domain have changed, only whilst the problem is being solved.
Thanks for noticing our banner spelling error. During stressful situations, mistakes can happen. ;-)
CUSTOMERS please be aware we will compensate for this by crediting your account, or paying for your invoice for the next month. All confirmations will be emailed to you once we're fully back online.
Please give us a few more hours. Everything shall be fine. |

Edit, Our domain has NOT expired.
Apologies for that. Been working with the team for over 12 hours to solve this issue. |

Good to see them becoming a member on WHT and active.
Put a annoucement with reasonable causation on why it happens is a must.
At least, nice hearing the sites will be online soon. |

When I went to that URL I got an annoying pop-up advertisement over the page after which when I hit the "x" on the ad it tried to open up two new browser windows with popups...
I don't suppose that has anything to do with:
Code:
<!-- Begin Free Hosting Code Insert -->
<script type="text/javascript" src="/.system/insert.php"></script>
<!-- End Free Hosting Code Insert -->

Hi Everyone!
We're happy to say that the Ultrahoster website is back up. We've put it on a complete different server and will reveal details in a large email statement about this issue.
The domain may be propagating but soon www.ultrahoster.co.uk shall be back as it needs to be. Emails will be sent out immediately once that's happen.
We've still been waiting for the software providers to see why our backups have not been restored, but no replys. So we're in the process of migrating each account manually to the other server we have set up. Cpanel has been installed, so accounts should start working from tonight, early tomorrow morning GMT time.
We apologize for this, and thank you very much for your understanding.
Regards,
Ultrahoster Web Solutions www.ultrahoster.co.uk |

Backups are always very important to have, especially when it is hosted by a provider that has a track record of issues. |
