Is it qwest dns or Godaddy?

Posted by Angelo, 10-24-2009, 12:27 AM
Hey guys,

We are unable to access our sites subdomains, the dns does not resolve. I switched our computers to one other dns server, they are coming up now. But im still not sure if our ISP dns is down or not, cause other addresses were resolving fine.

the domain is yandy . com
can you check www and images5 subdomain for me maybe if they are resolving on your locations. appreciated.

I cant figure it out, i thought its our connection here, but if you cant get it too, there must be something else going on, maybe with the DNS hosting in Godaddy.

must be qwest,

i'll spare you the rest of the gory details, the details preceding the result lines go on for pages because it follows the whole chain for every root server.

but,

Results:

50.0% of queries will be returned by 216.69.185.21 (ns41.domaincontrol.com) images5.yandy.com. 1800 IN A 174.120.134.18

50.0% of queries will be returned by 208.109.255.21 (ns42.domaincontrol.com) images5.yandy.com. 1800 IN A 174.120.134.18

Also keep in mind that godaddy probably reloads/updates in batches as opposed to instantly.

its probably not qwest, because my anonymous dns server that i found from internet is not able to get an ip too, and it randomly happens on different subdomains. its doing intermittently.

Then ns41/ns42 might be under heavy load, without saying the D word.

The test posted above followed the whole chain from root without problem at the time of the test.
