Any iK:Host customers know why they are down? Got no emails can't contact support as IRC is down aswell. Any details or ways to contact them would be great

Regards
Craig

I assume ikhost is under the same brand as XenVZ, so:

Duration: < 45 minutes.

The maintenance is to perform an emergency upgrade of Cisco software. The Cisco VSS-1440 is part of the network core and users have been experiencing some reduced performance with it today.

There is no cause within the network configuration or set up of this and it started to have a detrimental effect on some clients today.

This was escalated to the Cisco TAC team who have diagnosed a fault with the software on the router in the form of a memory leak.

Cisco has supplied a new version of the software for the router which will fix the memory leak and slow performance.

The nature of this problem is that it will escalate as time goes on, which is why the fix needs to be applied as soon as core business hours finish today.

This problem was out of our control but Cisco are attempting to resolve it quickly.

Please accept our apologies for the short notice.

Hi Craig,

iK:Host is hosted on RapidSwitch and I can confirm that RapidSwitch are currently having significant issues with their network at the moment (5.31pm BST) and this is causing iK:Host to go on and off-line.

The iK:Host server has been running fine - network connectivity has been the problem and continues to be be a problem.

Hi

Is there any further updates on this?

Hello,

We at iK:host have been sending out e-mails however as iK:host mailservers are unfortunately at RapidSwitch too, these may be delayed and/or not get through at all!

In the mean time, You may find more information on the outage in the RapidSwitch outage thread at http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=892483

OpenITC/XenVZ hosts their own mail systems off-site so will not be affected by many e-mail issues.

Hope this helps.
