Team VPS Down

Posted by CoishAssociates, 09-20-2009, 12:51 AM
Team VPS Server Down:
https://vm.jumpserver.net

Since 12:42AM

Our VPS that is used as a small DNS server is down, upon checking, the entire server seems to be offline / not responding. Confirmed via BinaryCanary monitoring.

In addition, their main website is very slow and not very responsive.

Website is no longer responding either. Have no support / contact methods to inform them.

Thanks for the confirms guys. I haven't tried calling them yet, we do have four nameservers so it's not a critical outage at the moment so I can be a little lax on the outage for now.

VPSRight, interesting discovery for sure I will see if I can confirm that as well.

Looks like it might be an IP routing issue.

all requests are timing out now but i got 50% loss when i tried to ping my sites ip last. its getting messy as i have 5 vps with these guys. any ideas?

In the last week I have had three noticeable outages, and although we've built our network for redundancy, I prefer to have all nameservers available as much as possible.

It looks like I will be jumping ship shortly. Sucks we've paid this months fees already, granted it's small so it's easily absorbable. I am looking into VPSRight at the moment, seems they have a comparable pricing structure and good allotments, especially if you consider their WHT offer post. Might be worth checking out for you as well?

Request for a refund due to the ongoing downtime.

Posted by saintlysinner, 09-20-2009, 02:06 AM
its not about the refund its more about the downtime the sites are facing. i hope they recover soon. im planning to shift if they are going to continue this service. but they were very affordable and came with direct admin for free

The pricing is good, but when it comes to downtime, that's more important. It's why I distribute my nameservers around and ensure I have multiple ones. However three outages in a week, and one now for over an hour is pushing my limits for a good network.

Also the fact that their own site is on the same server, is a put off because support cannot be contacted.

there was contact details available from domaintools. the phone number is an add service. i have not got any reply from the gmail account thats mentioned there.

With the current scenario i hope atleast the backups are fine. It would be a real put off if they have been hacked or any such an issue

I wasn't saying it was about the refund, I was merely stating what CoishAssociates had said;

Always a good idea.

Like I said, I'm pretty sure it was an IP routing issue. The same thing happened a few days ago.

We apologize for this downtime, the downtime earlier this week was because Cogent went down in Kansas City. Tonight we had a large scale DDOS attack and we had to involve our upstream provider to block it.

We try to always post on our blog (hosted outside our network) about any outages, but this time we were on the phone the entire time with our upstream provider and could not post until the issue was resolved.

If any user wishes to cancel because of this outage, just let us know via our billing system and we will cancel the account and refund the current month they have paid for.
