Posted by HashPipeK, 09-17-2009, 02:47 PM |
Again? I thought something like this was a pretty rare occurrence for the Wiredtree folks, no? |
Posted by Atjeu-Damir, 09-17-2009, 02:48 PM |
I am having the same problem with my dedicated server.
I can ssh to it, but nobody can connect to my websites.
Damnit! |

This is the first time for me in over 2 years that I had a site go down...but I only just switched from liquidweb to wiredtree...about 3 months with wiredtree.
I'm hoping it's not long though...already 15 minutes. |

My VPS is down as well as Grove (Their CP) and WT main site.
Not good..... A big event is coming and I am expecting 2x the traffic in next few days.
Its one of those times when you want your site to be up 100%.
WT must give a proper justification this time. |
Posted by HashPipeK, 09-17-2009, 02:56 PM |
Indeed getting a little nervous...hope they release more information soon. |

I can access all of WiredTree no issues right now so they might of switched to a failsafe location or are working on fixing things. |
Posted by AdmoNet, 09-17-2009, 02:59 PM |
Yes,
It's down from our location as well. We just get SYN_SENT and no response. This could also be a mild attack on their network.
Update:
It appears I can reach some servers at WT (none of our own) but they are inaccessible for some protocols. Furthermore, their main site is down but the server inside their network can hit their device.

Seems down to me too.
EDIT: It just came back up |
Posted by IndiaNets, 09-17-2009, 02:59 PM |
True! This is happening to me since I switched to WiredTree. I am facing this 5th time in last 4 months.
WiredTree!!! Please respect the uptime policies you have if you are seeing this.
"issue with one of our upstream providers" >> I don't care, change that! We need what we pay for. I guess their n/w is powered by only carrier which is down now. Anyone with an UP server? |
Posted by WiredTree Zac, 09-17-2009, 02:59 PM |
It is effecting connectivity one of our border routers. It seems to be effecting 50% of traffic. We are working on getting it resolved ASAP. Sorry for the inconvenience. |

I can Access to wiredtree.com and my server too. Thanx Wiredtree |
Posted by dspkable, 09-17-2009, 03:00 PM |
It does not appear to be resolving from my location either at this time. |
Posted by tonyxcom, 09-17-2009, 03:00 PM |
yeah my hybrid is down as well. Emailed support about 10 mins ago.
Grove is down too, so it would appear to be a large outage. |

it is up again |

How long have they been down for? |
Posted by scorpio9, 09-17-2009, 03:02 PM |
They did send out this "maintenance notification" 3 days ago but I guess they had problems after the reboot, looks like the whole system is down
Quote:
This is a notice to inform you that the parent VPS hardware node that provides service to your VPS account(s) will be rebooted at Thursday September 17, 2009 between the hours of 12AM and 6AM CST (06:00 - 12:00GMT) to address security updates to Virtuozzo the software powers your server. The reboot should take no longer than 30 to 45 minutes. If you have any questions please feel free to reply to this notice or contact us via Grove (https://grove.wiredtree.com).

Posted by saadsalman, 09-17-2009, 03:06 PM |
What was the cause of this downtime? I mean if one network was down what about the rest? |
Posted by scorpio9, 09-17-2009, 03:10 PM |
That was a email notification sent to me, you should check that you are on their mailing lists
looks like they are back online at this minute

Keep in mind this appears to be a network issue, not a specific server issue at their location. |
Posted by WiredTree Zac, 09-17-2009, 03:25 PM |
At approximately 1:38PM CST today one of WiredTree's core switches rebooted. This reboot caused BGP sessions to one of our core Juniper routers to be dropped to three of our five upstream providers. BGP sessions were re-established on a different core switch set up for redundancy however there was a brief period of interruption for traffic coming in over those providers while the BGP sessions were re-established and BGP routes propagated. This interruption effected approximately 55% of traffic. Complete network connectivity was restored by 1:59PM CST. We will be working with our network vendors to determine the cause of this issue and to prevent it from happening again and will be monitoring the situation closely. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. |

I haven't got such notification.
Would that mean that we are going to have a downtime again because of this Maintenance?? |
Posted by WiredTree Zac, 09-17-2009, 04:29 PM |
The maintenance scorpio9 is talking about is for certain VPS/Hybrid clients for a hardware node reboot. If you didn't get an email it doesn't effect you. |
