DotXm Down

Posted by gswebsite, 07-08-2009, 10:53 AM
DotXm.com is down more than 24 hours.
There is no info and no customer support.
I try to reach administration but without success.
If anybody know what is happening please share with me.
I'm with dotXm more than 3 months without any issues at all.
This is first big problem with my account but its look very scary because there is no any information about dotXM last 24 hour and more.

Well you may want to contact the owner here: DotXM-Hamza
As far as I understand the owner will be leaving the hosting industry for quite a while and is selling or have sold his client base to other providers.

What do you mean is selling or have sold his client base to other providers?

Well he had posted a thread in the Premium Members forum to sell his remaining clients:-

Thanks JLHC.
I don't have access to Premium Members forum.
So,I will hope Hamza will answer to this threat and make explain because his service stopped and now all remaining clients, like me are lost in space.
This is apsolutely wrong,we don't make fresh backups and we don't have any information about this changes on dotXM.

On July 6th at 2:10 PM EST, we send out an e-mail to the 5 remaining client's that we still had which included you I believe. The e-mail enclosed that we will be closing DotXM Hosting down for the time being as we cannot simply afford to keep the servers up as well as maintain any sort of profit, rather, we were going into a huge loss and to prevent that we had to close the company down. The servers were due to cancel on July 7th by 6-7 PM EST, which gave all the remaining client's more than 24 hours to create backup(s), which IOHO, is plenty of time.

Specifically in the e-mail, we stated that all client's must make a FULL backup of their accounts and move it to a another host or download it asap. We also stated that we will not be responsible for any data lost as we have already given a warning to take full backups dependent on the client.

We manage to NOT sell the remaining client's as the party's that were interested never managed to pull through, so that was really just a waste of time. We do dearly apologize for closing the company down, but until we can get some more funding and a stronger board of investors, we will not be coming back anytime soon.

I do hope you enjoyed your time with us and perhaps in the future you may come back to us whenever we open again and have a better company structure.

I really don't believe you send this e-mail to me because I read mail everyday and many times but if you decide to close your company 24 hours before is not enough to inform your clients.
That is not normal so I believe It is not good for your reputation and future business.I work with many companies and never had this kind of experiance.
It's unbelievable and I must start all my sites from nothing because of that.

I really do apologize for this but we had no choice. We were making no profit, rather taking huge losses. We tried to sell the remaining client's off to a very reliable host, but that didn't pull through.

And as for the e-mail, it does seem that you did not get the e-mail. Sometimes WHMCS does not send the e-mail properly and this isn't the first time that the e-mail wasn't sent properly. Again, I do apologize, but there's nothing we could have done.
