We had some light denial of service traffic (a few hundred megabits) that may have caused higher than normal latency to a couple rack switches. Detection systems blocked the attack however it took a few minutes for those systems to detect.
It did not effect the huge majority of customers nor our border, core, or distribution layers.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

Could someone from Liquidweb update the info here more often please? Or at least update Network Status page on Liquidweb.com...
Please?

Hello everyone,
I felt that I should post here whats going on with liquid web.
I just signed up with liquid web 2 days ago and that is why the ddos is happening.
I run a game server and it appears someone doesnt want it to be up that is what causing all of this.
Liquidweb is doing everything they can to stop this ddos so it doesn't effect anyone with them.. To ensure your servers stability and such they have told me that if the ddos happens again to my ip they will be forced to cut my server off for good. Which I 100% understand seeing as how it effeted so many on their network.
Hope this sheds some light on whats going on.
Sorry for this I dont know why people do these types of attacks or why a prevention tool of some sort hasn't been invented yet but until a real solution is out there for everyone we are all subject to ddos.

Yeah! Got that shor while ago
Good morning,
Over the last two days, we have experienced severe Denial of Service attacks.
Service has been restored, and you should be able to get to your site now. We
are working to determine both the perpetrator and the target of these attacks,
so that we can prevent this in the future.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused.

Thread has been cleaned.
No need to get off topic and bash each other for whatever reason, take it elsewhere.

At least now LW's clients know whats going on and it very nice of you to come in WHT and admitted that your account was causing it. I sure hope that you can get this sorted out and good luck in future hostings.

I really dont like Liquidwebs silence about it... it's really unprofessional...

Support issues such as these should be handled via direct contact, their own forums or a status page, not WHT forums. Despite how it sometimes looks WHT is not for end user support.

Does LiquidWeb use any type of DDoS attack mitigation hardware? Seems like these attacks really should not cause this many outages.
