None of my sites that are hosted on HostGator.com are reachable along with a few friends of mine. 78.87.43.194 & 78.87.196.34

HostGator.Com works fine. The IP's you listed don't though.

Hostgator is at ThePlanet. I have some servers at the planet and seemed to have some small problems lately as well... I think it was my home ISP or possibly a problem over at ThePlanet/one of their b/w providers.
TransitMan: have all problems cleared up?

Same with me... I can reach HostGator, but not those IPs.

It appears that 78.87.43.194 & 78.87.196.34 are not assigned - anywhere or to anyone?
If one of those was your IP address before now, they are not anymore.

Unable to ping the given IPs. Inform them, I hope they will assist you with the issue drops.

Hello Everyone,
Thank you for the great community support. Everything was resolved a few hours after I made this post. The support staff at HostGator said they were having some difficulties with their facility a little earlier.
Both sites are back up and running now thanks again. So far i'm pretty happy with HostGator and their support seems to be local at their office or atleast within North America. Also, they give honest information. All customers want to hear is the truth .
Thanks again .

I have no response on my websites with gatorhost as well. GESConsultants.com used to host directly with theplanet.com may move back in a matter of hours; will give gatorhost one try right now.

Interesting enough the cpanel IP is up...any thoughts? IP address is 70.87.140.130 which of course is traced back to theplanet data center in TX.

DNS Report for gesconsultants.com
Generated by www.DNSreport.com at 00:03:28 GMT on 01 Jul 2006.
Category Status Test Name Information
Parent PASS Missing Direct Parent check OK. Your direct parent zone exists, which is good. Some domains (usually third or fourth level domains, such as example.co.us) do not have a direct parent zone ('co.us' in this example), which is legal but can cause confusion.
INFO NS records at parent servers Your NS records at the parent servers are:
ns221.hostgator.com. [70.87.140.130] [TTL=172800] [US]
ns222.hostgator.com. [70.87.140.131] [TTL=172800] [US]
[These were obtained from h.gtld-servers.net]
PASS Parent nameservers have your nameservers listed OK. When someone uses DNS to look up your domain, the first step (if it doesn't already know about your domain) is to go to the parent servers. If you aren't listed there, you can't be found. But you are listed there.
PASS Glue at parent nameservers OK. The parent servers have glue for your nameservers. That means they send out the IP address of your nameservers, as well as their host names.
PASS DNS servers have A records OK. All your DNS servers either have A records at the zone parent servers, or do not need them (if the DNS servers are on other TLDs). A records are required for your hostnames to ensure that other DNS servers can reach your DNS servers. Note that there will be problems if your DNS servers do not have these same A records.
NS FAIL NS A timeout occurred getting the NS records from your nameservers! None of your nameservers responded fast enough. They are probably down or unreachable. I can't continue since your nameservers aren't responding. If you have a Watchguard Firebox, it's due to a bug in their DNS Proxy, which must be disabled.
Happy 4th weekend to me

Hello,
What is your ticket number? I do not believe the ip's you are using belong to us.
The planet assigns ips in a series.
70.87.140.130 << your cpanel ip
78.87.43.194 & 78.87.196.34 <<< The ips your trying to use that aren't in the series.
