Good Server Offer?

Posted by Chris Gwynne, 11-08-2016, 06:53 PM
Hi guys, Looking for a dedicated server to host a few client websites, 1 large e-commerce website and a few wordpress websites. Seen an offer for Intel E3-1230 Quad Core 32GB RAM 2 x 250GB SSD RAID 1 15TB Bandwidth 100Mbps Port At a decent price, will this server be adequate for my needs? Or should I continue looking, budget is around $100 a month.

Hi Chris, A lot of providers won't offer that spec for your budget, but there's definitely some deals out there with that spec within that would suit you nicely. Did you have a location preference for this?

I don't foresee any issues with this configuration so far as its ability to handle those sites. What are you currently using? That would depend as well though just how large your e-commerce website is and those WordPress sites.

Location preferably in UK but I.m easy as to where really.

In terms of pricing and your needs, I can't give any exact advice, but before you load anything on your system, consider what operating system you would like to run. If it's just an e-commerce website and a few WordPress websites....will they also need email, DNS, and all the extra's you get from a panel like cPanel? If not, it opens the possibility of only loading PHP, MySQL, server-side cache, and a few needed services. With that configuration above, it will be more than enough, BUT that's only a guess because we don't know how large or active any of the websites mentioned are. So aside from finding a reputable web host, research all your needs beforehand.

That server is for $100/m only? If yes, grab it. cPanel will cost additional $25/m though.

Try another $10/month for an appropriate license.

I think you could probably find some providers that offer those specs at that price. Have you taken a look at the dedicated server offers forum down below?

Can you explain what you exactly mean by this?

I'm pretty sure you won't find cPanel DEDICATED license for $10 at 98% of providers. So offer it, but the cost is just bundled in to the server. NO cPanel partners are getting DEDICATED licenses that cheap.

I meant ON TOP of $25/month. A dedicated license is more realistically priced at $35/month.

What platform is that e-commerce website running on? and how much traffic are the sites seeing on a daily basis? Do you have any plugins or applications that are resource heavy on CPU or IO? From the sounds of it, the server spec is more than enough

Server you mentioned is a decent configuration and pricing you mentioned is also the best one. Is it fully managed or unmanaged server ?

Few providers is offering $20-25 for internal license. Also you can get external license for $30/mo from buycpanel.

Just to clarify, we offer our dedicated licenses for $34.95/month but we do have various promo codes available that can reduce the cost as well as great bulk pricing for 10 or more licenses. Please contact our sales team for more information.
