how to contact ovh - soyoustart (i know it's weird but read the detail)
Posted by trichnosis, 10-27-2016, 01:57 AM |
hello;
I've a bit weird problem. i need some idea.
I've ordered a server from soyousotart.com which is an ovh brand . It has been nearly 24 hours after the order
They requested extra document for validation contact details and address detail. This is my first server from ovh. I've sent the documents nearly 24 hours ago.
I need this server quickly but they did not replied any email until now.
* do you know how to contact that i can ask "what's happening" question to real person?
* is this normal that ovh is not responding any email? This makes thinking that ovh does not provide good support
Thanks

You will need to wait for their approval. The verification process might take a few days. They have a number on their website so you can call and ask for the ETA in this case.

Yes, it is normal that verification procedure takes time. Soyoustart is OVH brand, but with much less support and lower prices. You can find many reviews about OVH support.
Anyway, if you need a better support, I recommend to use OVH instead Soyoustart.

Account verification takes 12-48h. After that orders are setup instantly or with whatever time it shows on their website.

What's the saying again... pay peanuts, get... ?
I've seen on forums that people have had to wait anywhere up to 5 days for approval. What do you expect? <60 min responses from them?

Initial verification could take up to a week. I have an account with both OVH and SYS, so I have been through the verification process twice. This does not always work, but if you give them a call and ask them if they can speed up the process they might approve it faster, yet there are no guarantees that it would work.
As far as customer support is concerned OVH and all their brands are just not the most reliable to say the least. Once I made a $2.4K USD order and due to the fact that it took them more than 3 days to respond and provision the servers I lost the customer and my money. This is how bad it can get with them. Their network, DDOS protection and hardware and prices are great, their system is highly automated, but you have to understand that when they need to perform a manual task it could take days. Once I even renewed my server on time and three days after that my server was suspended due to non-payment and when I called the support guy told me that their system did not acknowledge the payment and even tried to blame me that I should have checked whether their system processed the payment despite the fact that my credit card was charged.
Ovh offers some great products at a bargain price, but their support is their bottleneck in my opinion.

Oh no, they do not provide support except for hardware and network.

I've phoned the number which i found on soyoustart.com/us/support/ to ask the status my order. They sales guy said that initial verify may take time up to 48 hours. (There is no phone to ask the status of the "verify thing". The verify guys do not use phone) .
I've going to wait 24 hours more and i'm planning to move on. It's so stupid that they do not reply any email.
Yes. The servers are cheap. I do not want to waste my time with this sh.t support. (I do not expect any technical support. They need to do some paper work. And reply email )
They say nothing. I mean nothing. They do not reply any email. I do not expect 60 minutes response but i think 1 day is a fair time to expect an email for a paper work

At these prices it is understandable that they do not provide software support, but the problem as the OP complained is that their other support is not reliable either.

That is not other support, that is sales which sometimes do take time especially with verification.
I am answering his first post about the support which has nothing to do with the order.

It was more of venting my frustration against them being somewhat slow to respond than quoting your thoughs in that particular situation. Sorry

They are so slow for a basic thing. they will probably become slower for a complex issue like hardware failure
and if they reject the documents, that means i lost 2 days.
I will wait a few hours more and move on. i do not have time for this sh.t

Your attitude for picking one of the cheapest un-managed server providers in the world then complaining before you even get your server is silly.
Buy a server with SoftLayer if you want near instant support and constant updates to setup and similar. Otherwise be patient, get your server, then all future orders will be setup without any verification.

Hello Mike
I do not want to argue but it looks like you did not read the issue. as i said above, i do not expect instant support. It has been over 1 day (over 36 hour)
36 hours is a good time to check basic paper work
have a nice day

As we know SYS ( OVH ), it may take 24 - 72 hours. We are surprised that you are waiting 36 hours? Absolutely not. We are surprised that you are surprised and had quick support expectations for that low price. And now you see where is a hidden * of the SYS ( OVH ) prices.

As you can see, it is not first my post in this thread. I read it in full. Looks you still do not try to understand what everybody wants to tell you.

I found one real OVH review and remember your post:
http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?t=1592990
Initial order and account validation
When I made my very first OVH order, I had not read any of the posts here (or on other forums) about the validation process. This was not my first dedicated server order, but the previous one was with a small, local company where the process was very different. I ordered a server that was announced with 120 seconds delivery time, and of course that was not the reality due to the validation process.
It took 6 days from the order, until the account was verified. And then another day until the server was delievered. Unlike some other customer stories, my VAT validation was done at the same time as the account validation - so I did not need to provide any additional documents or go through any more steps to get that done.
The process it self was not complicated - I provided a photo of my idenity card and passport, as well as proof of my company address. It was just the time delay that was annoying.
And you start complaining after 24 hours...

Yes, I've already read the full thread as well. You need to be patient getting your fist server provisioned with OVH. Once this initial order is verified and provisioned, if there is a next time, that will go much smoother. OVH has a known history of taking their time with verifications.
