Looking for a Canadian Managed VPS

Posted by endtone, 02-09-2016, 03:15 PM
Hello, I am looking for recommendations for a Canadian VPS Provider (or at least the data has to be located inside a Canadian datacenter). Requirements: - Fully managed (I don't want to be the one having to patch the servers during the next Heartbleed) - 24/7 monitoring and good fast support - DDos protection and Firewall - Will be used mostly to host WordPress sites for my clients, so it has to be fast - Ability to allocate, isolate resources to client accounts (CloudLinux?) - cPanel/WHM is not necessary, but I have to be able to host different clients in some way - Email hosting is NOT required, I want to stop hosting email on the same server - SSH root access is nice to have - Ceph or other redundant high availability technology is nice to have I have been looking at Funio (https://funio.com/en/web-hosting/vps), they seem OK but price of 78USD seems a bit high and no root access. Can anyone recommend them? Any other recommendation is greatly appreciated ! Thanks

The best way is to start your research within the offers section. I'm sure there you will be able to find a couple of providers there. Then you can discuss that directly with them. I have to say that your impressions after communication with them will help you with your choice. Do not forget to check reviews as well. That could be useful (especially negative reviews).

I know this is an old thread...but as a Funio customer, I would not recommend them. The servers are fine, but the support is definitely below average.

In what way?

Slooooow, incomplete answers and then when you ask to clarify... your support ticket goes back to the end of the line again! So solving something that would normally take 5-10 minutes, takes 1-2 days, if! And don't expect much of instant chat support. What they do is they are basically messengers that listen to the problem, and then say they will create a support ticket for another tech.

Oh that's not good. That used to partly be due to limitation wth support ticketing system used by most providers. Now WHMCS has In other words, even if the customer keeps updating the ticket the system does not push their ticket to the back of the queue. Something like that anyway! That is why I prefer to use smaller-medium providers with better support teams so they can respond to tickets and resolve any issues quicker.
