Increasing disk space on Reseller Hosting
Posted by domaincart, 05-14-2014, 11:24 AM |
Hi. We sell Shared Hostings under Reseller Hostings. Our latest package provides 10GB space. But some of our customers need more space. We don't want to create new packages for these requests. So how can we increase disk space of a resold account without upgrading package?

Use the "Change Quota" or "Modify Account" option in the actions panel for the account. However, some hosting providers only allow the "Change Plan" option.

If you wanna upgrade for every user should edit package or modify account for individual account

WHM » Account Functions » Quota Modification
Find the account and simply set a new disk usage limit.

You should be able to modify the account from WHM and change the diskspace limit without modifying the package.

Yeah you can upgrade in WHM with account functions, I always do this for my websites

Yes, these two functions are not available on our WHMs.

Then you need to contact your host, they need to change your permissions and add account modification and quota modification.

I had the same with EZPZ.
Contacted support, Dan sorted it.
That was 17 months ago.
Now I've lost access to a whole bunch of functionality and support are telling me that I only get access to WHMPHP Master Reseller
Come back Dan, all is not forgiven but at least you were quicker on support.

Two ways of going about doing this. You can look in WHM for the function change account quota this is just to change the limit for one account. Or you can alternatively just edit the package / plan and for all accounts under that package their disk space will be changed.

Some reseller accounts only have the "Change Plan" option when viewing from the "List Accounts" page.
I think your option is to create a new package, then upgrade your customer to that current package. It seems that you can't use the fine-grained options page where you can set Disk Space, Bandwidth, etc. without going to the Packages page.

Create a new plan and upgrade the clients who need more space to that plan...

Yeah, that's what I would do. Just make it a "secret" plan so it wouldn't be available publicly in your billing software or in WHM. Only the clients who need it would get it. That's how I would do it if you're not able to get to the modify account screen

Since you are unable to update the plans from your WHM, then you need to contact your host or create new plan as suggested by other members, but seriously you should have these features if you are a web hosting reseller.

I will ask adding these function to our WHM from hosting provider. But I have a question, too. If we update(edit) features of the packages on WHM when do it reset disk space of the custom modified accounts?

No other way - you need to modify or manage the account quota only...
