Recommend a REAL Cloud hosting reseller
Posted by hkwebhost, 06-11-2012, 05:56 AM |
Dear all, can someone recommend a GOOD and REAL Cloud reseller host?
With "real" i mean with servers in more than 2 countries.
With "good" i mean 100% uptime.
I was going for Hostnine but they refused me because of security concerns.

That's not a cloud.
That's a CDN.
Not the same.
CDNs = MaxCDN, Akamai, EdgeCast, Futurehosting's CDN, etc.

What kind of web hosting service do you need, a VPS or Shared Hosting delivered from clustered (Cloud) infrastructure?

Doesn't Site5 utilize cloud hosting for their accounts? Googeling "Cloud web hosting" comes up with some good results too.

The term "Cloud" is used pretty loosely these days. Further, you do realize there is no such thing as 100% up-time right? If I were you, I would do a little more research on the types of services you are looking for. Cloud Environments (in general) are not going to guarantee anymore or less stability than your traditional web hosting enviroment (at least not for the end user in a shared/reseller enviroment).

A: shared hosting reseller plan delivered from clustered (Cloud) infrastructure. This is just to give my clients more options. Is not my main market, just want to try it. So i need it to be cheap and with monthly payments.

This isn't about any certain provider but you need to understand that a "100% uptime guarantee" does not guarantee you'll have 100% uptime. All it means is that you might receive some level of monetary compensation / credit when (not if) you suffer downtime. How much, if any, compensation you'll get depends on the exact wording of the SLA - read it carefully before deciding anything.

100% uptime is impossible to achieve, even for the best companies out there. Do you know that some cloud providers actually have more downtime issues (due to SAN problems) than to the conventional hosting ones?
If you need to offer your customers flexibility to choose countries, you can buy resellers from multiple webhosting providers or order resellers in different locations from same webhosting providers. I don't know any other site offering multiple locations in one reseller package other than hostnine (which has already forbidden you services).

Well there are many factors that can affect uptime, and even in a cloud hosting environment there are instances when websites go down, probably due to user errors or server problems. Hostnine, Turnkeyinternet, Rackspace are but a few of the companies offering cloud hosting. I would recommend checking user reviews and weighing whether a cloud hosting environment would be a sustainable strategy for your business (because it is expensive) in the long run.

Yes, totally agree so we must check reviews before purchasing any services. Cloud Hosting doesn't come with 100% uptime, but it will handle high traffic better shared hosting.

My problem with cloud hosting is they feel like they need to charge a premium for using it. Rackspace is the real example of this. Can anyone say spendy? If they would include bandwidth with the packages it'd be more understandable, but that's how they get you I guess. Then again, it wouldn't be pay as you go "cloud" if they bundled bandwidth with the server :\

After reading a few people recommend HostNine.com on this website because you could have multiple servers on different class C IPs with their reseller account so I decided to try them out and purchased a 2 years prepaid term.
So 2 month ago I use a place holder domain which did not have a developed site to get the account setup. Since that time, I manage to get one of our website moved over to that account but still left the place holder domain undeveloped.
NOW THE FUN PART! About 3 weeks ago, I received a letter stating my account had been suspended because it was bogging down their server from the domain which doesn't have a single file on their server. After explaining this to them, they reactivated the account and claimed to "Block Access" to the supposed script that I had on the account. I verified once again there was nothing setup on the domain and moved on.
Within 2 weeks, I had an exact same issue of being suspended based on the empty domain, however this time they would not reactivate it. At this time, I decided to cut my losses and decided to move my account. I requested my account be turned on for an hour, long enough for me to download all my info, however that request has gone unanswered.
