Hi
Thanks for the interest!
We've done VPS hosting for years and started doing shared hosting again recently.
The offer is legit and the nodes are built quite large. Each node has 8 x 1TB SSD's in RAID10, 36GB - 72GB RAM and 24 cores.
If you have anymore questions just let me know

after having a look at their website i would say this is a one man show most likely being operated from a basement or garage.

Posted by DeltaAnime, 04-29-2014, 11:57 PM |
Burn! Though, that is where my personal office is. We don't have a physical office since no one lives that close to the other.
Not quite a one man show. There's Aldryic, Anthony, Karen, & I all working within the company doing one thing or another. Aldryic & I are the reps for WHT.
We have plenty of people on the shared hosting and a ton on the VPS side

thanks for the speedy response but like all baby hosters we must start from a data center, smiley face

Haha... Jumping to conclusions much? Think theirs a bit more research needed than simply looking at their website...

Well, that's good that we use Fiberhub in Las Vegas & Choopa in Jersey

Welllllll... Our website sucks. I made it originally when we were starting up and while I think I did a decent job for someone that doesn't do much design work, it's pretty bad.
We've had a few people take a swing at designing a new one for us but they usually don't finish or give really poor work back.
I've got it out for tender to a few people right now so we'll see how that goes.
Turning off my sig.

It is still a bad judgement to jump to... There are plenty of huge companies out there, who in my opinion, have fairly bad website designs.
Good luck finding someone to do the designs.

drawing conclusions? lol .....you can clearly see the deltaanime(owner/spokesman) stating " we dont have an official office and that we are a 3-4 man team" but i will say kudos to "buyVM.com" for at least being honest about their situation. the reason why i stated "i had a look at their website" and concluded so fast is bc the user posting this thread is obviously doubtful and i think based on their product(VMs) capacity, which does not surpass 2048GB of ram, 4 cores(physical/virtual?) and 4T of storage space - all of this means stand alone servers running the show, if i could ASSume. so you tell me who is drawing conclusions.
thanks

for the support, i think they are very active and responsive if i look here
for long term and quality .... ? <== this is what i need to make a decision

Posted by cloudsurph, 04-30-2014, 12:29 AM |
lol really? hostlatch.com
now i see why your so offended.......if you cant take constructive criticism then leave the host game.
36 euros a month/ 8GM of ram / 8 cpu cores, virtual right?
run a chassis please.

andregeges, i would say YES to buyVM.com since your a small user/developer(it seems) these guys are located in the U.S.A. so you can at least count on constant power and connection.
|
Posted by andregeges, 04-30-2014, 12:32 AM |
hahaha, yes your website absolutely ugly and make people like me think twice to in.. but your price is.... make me to think twice again to left..
is you can make a profit with this price??? i'm afraid with rlshosting.com do...

I've hosted with BuyVM before and will again. BuyVM is probably #1 or #2 of my very very short list of trustworthy low-price providers
also lol@ everyone complaining about the website, lookup "programmer art"

Thanks
Our shared division is already very profitable for us. We colocate all of our equipment, own all of our IP space, & networking gear.
We've been doing hosting for many many years and we will be doing it for many many more.

I've not had a business relationship with BuyVM but I've never come across any huge drama or monstrous negativity about the provider. The 1GB/2GB unmanaged costs, while most certainly affordable, are also not 'cheap' to me, more closer to spot-on IMO. If those same packages were $3.99 and $8.99 per month, that would raise the yellow flag for me.

I should add that we're not .com.
I was dumb when I got the .net domain to not check if .com was taken.

What i mean 'cheap' is buyShared product not the VPS one..
15.00/year for 128Ram.. what is your target at this package? or what can i do from this package?

Posted by DeltaAnime, 04-30-2014, 02:11 AM |
Well, there's many people that use it for VPN's, proxies, IRC servers, monitoring servers, even websites.

Oh, I didnt notice DeltaAnime is Francisco. He is BuyVM/Frantech.

I've had VPS services with them for what will be two years next month.
It's unlikely I'd ever moan unless they were down for extended periods or constantly crawling like a crippled snail, but neither of those things have happened so I've nothing bad to say. Planned outages and issues are always communicated excellently.
I grabbed one of their shared accounts for a small site that I wanted on a different network to my main provider, and where a cPanel environment is perfect. I don't expect any support beyond keeping the server up and secure. The other provider gets all my annoying tickets when my poor code killed part of my site, but they get far more money and give me far less resources in return
If your expectations are similar I'd say BuyVM will likely serve you very well. If you need constant hand holding for simple things then you should never expect that at this price level.

Thanks!
We've actually been moving more towards semi-managed support.
Sig off to save me a hopeful smiting

BuyVM, great provider. I think Francisco has been more than polite to some of the replies here.
These guys are good, very professional, their service is top notch, and I loved that custom Control Panel Stallion.
They are not hosted in a basement. They have two locations which are hosted in professional DC's.
About the website , I was told they are working in a new version. Though I prefer them to dedicate their effort to maintain nodes stable and keep providing such good service than going fancy and stuff with ther website. I like that green, got me inspired a few months ago.

I'm not talented enough to actually design a new one, I simply fill out questionares that every designer seems to have
Thank you!

I decided to try it but I see you are "out of stock" on that plan as well as the 3.50/month plan.
Any idea when you will have the $15/year plan back in stock?

The New Jersey location.
I did place an order a day ago and I received a welcome email:
I tried to log into your client portal but got a message saying "Login Details Incorrect. Please try again". I'm pretty sure I remember the password I used but tried the password recovery anyway. When I tried password recovery I got the message "No client account was found with the email address you entered". I'm positive I have my email address correct as it is my same email address you used to send your welcome email to me.
I know these forums are not the place to ask for support but at this point I'm at a loss as to what to do. Any guidance you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the details you gave were so off the charts that it got deleted. That, or you had another account with us
Sign up again or send an email to cboas@frantech.ca and let Aldryic know.

I don't have another account with you.
What do you mean "details were so off the charts"?
I will send an email just to get the story of why this is happening. I hope it isn't happening because I tried to purchase the $15/yr plan. I can't help but wonder if I'd have the server by now if I had ordered the $25/mo plan. Just wondering.

That would've made no difference. Everyone gets treated the same, from our smallest customer to our biggest.

What do you mean by "details off the charts"?
|
Posted by DeltaAnime, 05-04-2014, 03:44 PM |
You'd be shocked how many people try to sign up with '123 LOL street' and things like that.
"Off the charts" would be details that are obviously bad.
Francisco

No, I wouldn't be shocked. I run an online community with over 400 members and I've been running online communities since the 90's. There aren't many things people can do that shock or even surprise me anymore.
At any rate, I signed up with my real address and phone number. You could call the number right now and I'd answer the phone. That is, if my account actually existed.

BuyVM has been around for several years, and they have consistently offered great services with excellent support at very low costs. I switched to them after BurstNET's migration fiasco back in March, and I wish I would have switched to them much sooner. The VPS's I purchased from BuyVM with the same specs as what I had with BurstNET are performing significantly better than BurstNET.
The few times I had to use support, my questions or the problem was fixed within a few minutes, even at odd hours (late at night on a weekend).
When they roll out a new line of services, they put a lot of time in to set things up properly so they run great from day one. If I was in need of shared or reseller hosting, I would not hesitate to add them to the four VPS's I already have with BuyVM.

Have account with them for 2+ years. Overall it is good.
Minuses:
Sometimes VPS loads get very high. Maybe because of dos/ddos atacks. Maybe only for me.
You get no support at all. Still, they have IRC channel, sometimes there are guys who help you.
