Intermedia Exchange Reseller - Any getting started advice?
Posted by upstart, 06-18-2011, 02:41 PM |
After finally settling on Intermedia for reselling Hosted Exchange services I find myself struggling with getting started with their reseller system among other things.
Their documentation is really sparse when it comes to setting up your reseller account and their support has been nothing short of horrific.
Here' a simple one: How do I change "YOUR COMPANY" in all the end user docs to my actual company name? I can't find a single thing that answers this.
Another: I sent a tech support question about using CNAMEs and they actually said I needed to contact my salesperson (which I don't have) because they didn't understand what I was asking.
Maybe I just made the wrong decision alltogether???
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

We have worked with intermedia. They will definitely help out.

Not for me. My "Representative" is Allen Sadler at 800-379-7729 x388 but in 3+ months now he has never returned a single phone call and their support team (with whom I just got off the phone) can ot answer any partner related questions, only end user related.

Wow! Rep emailed me yesterday (on a Sunday and Father's day no less) and again answered many questions this morning for me. Big help.
Thanks!

Im truly sorry you had issues ramping up over the weekend. I understand Allen called you on Sunday and you and he are in contact to answer any and all questions you have. We have a number of partner education and brandable materials on all our products available for you to download from the Partner Portal. Materials are also on the Knowledge Base which can be branded by partners who have purchased the custom branding package. Allen will be able to walk you through all of those when you speak.

You may want to try an alternative provider. There are others out there with a really nice offering and partner friendly. There's nothing stopping you from partnering with others and figuring which reseller partnership suits you and your customers best.

I'm pretty happy at the moment with this. Allen is very responsive to me requests and I've found their CP to be fairly simple to navigate.
Having said that, it's not 100% but none that I've found are. I still have no idea how or even if I can offer an automated solution to sell and signup clients. Also, I don't see how I can use a DNS entry so that it's my own domain the end user sees when accessing the different URLs but all in all it's a learn-as-you-go thing and this one is the easiest I've found.

OK. You should use WHMCS or any billing software to automate things so that you can take a long rest and billing software will do the most.

As far as I know WHMCS does not integrate with Intermedia - if you know of a way please let us know!
