Just put the costs which would be realistic and not over the top. Check the competition costs try and match or beat just a little.

I think you should check the Running a Web Hosting Business Tutorials forum first. I certainly wouldn't cost on what any perceived competitor charges.

1 to this but while considering beating the competition, don't force yourself over what you can provide. That would lead to you selling at a loss.

Exactly this. Take a good size sample of what your competitors are charging and work from there. Also, remember that there are other ways to compete -- it's not all about price ...

I think your minimum should be: your monthly cost of your reseller account divide by the number of customers you will host in that reseller account plus any cost you may have managing the business eg internet connection etc plus the profit you wish to make.

The price always depends on you. I can suggest you to sum all the taxes and set acceptable price, so you can have profit after paying the taxes

Also I would suggest not stressing out too much when your getting started. You can always adjust costs as you go. Just compare costs of some of the respectable other companies and be slightly competitive without giving away the farm .

This. Don't copy your competitors - neither their costs nor what they offer. There are too many of them and unlike you, they're already fully established. Instead, offer something different (use your imagination!) and set the price realistically. Or to put it another way, don't join the race to the bottom...

There is definitely a downward pressure on the hosting business, pretty much since the beginning. I don't know how I feel about it, because i've also benefited by that change in a lot of ways even if it makes the hosting business sector more challenging. When rackshack/ev1 starting offering $100/month servers it was a shock a decade ago - now many people would consider the same thing expensive . I've also seen the "you get what you pay for thing" is only is sometimes true. For sure particular costs are too cheap, but i've also had hundred dollar servers and had shockingly awful and rude support. A company like burst, on the other hand, manages to offer good services for really low costs.
