Servage.net worst webhost ever?

| Granted I have not had a lot of experience with webhosts, but thus far this would appear to be the case.
I've had 3 webhosts in my life before Servage. All 3 of them were small affairs run by people that knew what they were doing, but unfortunately the last one merged with another company that had a policy that really made my staying with them an impossibility.
I run a small vBulletin forum on my account, and always have, so we are not talking about any serious load here. maybe 20k pageviews a month.
I moved to Servage.net about a year ago, and for the first month or two all was well. Then I suddenly started getting lots of database connection errors. Basically that the webserver and the database server had for some reason lost connection and generated an error.
Prior to using Servage I had not recieved a single one of these errors before. Granted that the webserver and db server were the same machine in all cases, but nonetheless no one.
In the last 8 months I have recieved 10,435 db sync failure errors from Servage and they still refuse to admit they have a problem!
I have tried taking this up with their support, who after about 4 repeats actually read my query, and fobbed the problem off. They have done this over and over and over again.
Their service sounds great on their website, but overall it really is the worst service that I have come across in my life. And from someone that lives in a third world country that is saying something!
So, my question is who should I consider? I don't mind paying a bit more for better service, but I don't want these sorts of continual issues. I would consider a leased server but I quite frankly can't justify the maintainance time and overhead for a small site and about 8 email addresses.
I would really apreciate some suggestions here, as staying with Servage is about as likely as my poking myself in the eye with a sharp stick for fun.

| Whilst your DB queries might be low-ish, your memory/CPU usage is probably above what they want to provide you with. At the end of the day it only takes 1-2 customers to have high CPU/Memory utilisation for it to become a performance issue for others.
Might be time to start looking for a small dedicated server for yourself.

| While I apreciate the reply, blatant advertising without answering any points only makes me sure that I don't want to use whatever product you are punting. If you bothered to read my post you would see that I gave specifics and those specifcs do not use a lot of cpu at all.

| Where you got that from I have no idea, but whatever floats your boat, theres no advertising, and it's not wrote with magic ink!
The facts are, you don't like their service -> Move to someone else or get your own server, but classing them as 'the worst webhost ever?' is a bit rough, unless you've tried every other webhost out there. As I've already said, if your queries are heavy, they may not A) Want to help you and resolve it, to prevent further load on the box, or B) Maybe they are 'a bad host'.

| I ask a question about one product and you respond telling me I need a product you sell that is not what I was asking. Not hard to see.
Also 20k pageviews a month is not a lot of cpu.

| Have you been able to confirm that their MySQL server is on a different machine?
Do you use localhost or an IP to the MySQL server? Have you tried pinging/tracing the MySQL IP for packet loss or congestion?

| It doesn't matter whether it's 1 query, or 20,000 queries.
It depends how HEAVY the query is on the servers memory or processor.
Note: Like others, we're a webhost. If you get a reply from a webhost, it doesn't mean they're trying to sell their services, maybe they're just trying to help you, since you obviously posted here to get replies

| Yes, they confirmed that
I use the MySQL IP, and whether there is congestion or not does not change the issue to the fact that it is on their side. The exact same software was running on another host (bit identical) without these problems, ergo the problem is the host.

| Some times webhosts that use mysql in another server use proxies so customers still use localhost:3306 and it redirects it to another server. As far as I know servage has seperate server for the mysql.

| I'm using Dreamhost and they're always having SQL errors too. Guess we're on the same boat.

| That error is definately servage's problem.
The problem with servage is is that they sell too much with a low price.
In the end, they can't keep their servers good enough.
