I am looking for a managed windows server for $150. I already have one with a service provider but they are out of it. I need a windows server 2003 on which I should be able to run MSSQL. Should be fully managed. 1 GB memory and good bandwidth. Should have phone support 24*7 since it is an E-com Server Also It be good If we find some one from LA. email d_gang123@yahoo.com

Probably will be tough to find a Windows 2003 fully managed box under $150 just due to the cost of licensing etc. Good luck with it, I'd do some searching on google but that normal price range for a box of that nature would usually go close to $200.00/month You can try http://www.serverorigin.com or http://www.staminus.net they are both located in LA.

Fully managed, windows 2003, decent bandwidth, 1gb ram, decent processors... yah right, And you want phone support to top it off. LA isn't cheap by the way. Up your budget to $225'ish or so then you can find someone.

I beg to differ. The actual rack space (or building space) is cheaper than say in New York....and bandwidth is fairly cheap as well. Let's also not forget that Los Angeles is a MAJOR city in the US where there's tons and tons of peering. Great location overall...and it's most definitely not expensive.

You just aren't going to get a good, managed, Windows Server for $150/mo. Sorry but it's not going to happen. Licensing makes a decent $40 of that cost, add hardware, good bandwidth, management, and power ... and you're over $200 easily. Dan

About MSSQL, if you can go with MSDE or SQL 2005 Express you may get in that price range, otherwise MSSQL Workgroup is a good chunk of that and MSSQL Standard is more than what you want to pay for the server by itself.
