Recommendations for Server Managment
Posted by noblesavage, 07-27-2006, 08:00 PM |
I tried to save money and went with one of the lower priced server managment companies... needless to say, I'm gonna need therapy after that experience. I'm tempted to mention their name but I really hate saying bad things about people. I'm gonna cool off first and think about it. In the meantime, I need a server managment company or individual that is top notch. I'd really like some personal recomendations.
Thanks.

Have you given Platinum Server Management a try?

We've had a better experience locating contract workers via the employment section of WHT. We've also scouted locally, which as worked well. I would stay away from most "server management companies", most can't even manage themselves properly.

Platinum (above) has good feedback here and the premier is probably Touch Support.
(We do not use either, just feedback here)
This really should be in the dedicated server forum probably.

What kind of services do you need managed? Managed services is very broad and you need to be specific as to what you need done and controlled.
I'd question training yourself. There are plenty of courses to do it and then it actually becomes relatively easy the more experience you gain.
If you can't train and don't have the time to actually manage the server yourself, you will see yourself paying more money for actual support rather than the hosting itself.

Greetings:
What type of automation system or control panel system are you using?
Sometimes that makes a difference as to who might best serve you.
Thank you.
