CLOUDLINUX Resource Limited

Posted by tihhc, 03-13-2013, 03:29 AM
I am a reseller bases on CLOUDLINUX server. My provider keeps suspending my client cPanel (one by one) with reason of overloading resources. How come each account able to abuse the CLOUDLINUX server? Is there no resource limited rule? Thanks Last edited by tihhc; 03-13-2013 at 03:33 AM.

If the server is setup with CloudLinux each account should have access to 1 CPU and an amount of RAM usually 1 GB. If the account uses all the resources available for a period of time like 5 minutes CloudLinux should slowly limit the availability of resources to prevent the server from slowing down because of this account. Does your provider say which resources are being overloaded?

Adding to @StarWebHosting's reply, keep in mind that the resource limits set by CloudLinux for your accounts are maximum values and not guaranteed values. If your sites are running at 100% at all times, it may be time for an upgrade from shared hosting. Some hosts will suspend a user in this situation, others will lower the maximum values for the account.

You need to find out which resource are you exactly using excessively. Since your reseller uses CL, your cPanel should have a icon labelled Resource Usage, click and check your resource usage for yourself.

Its also important to note that CloudLinix does not limit I/O usage (at least not in regards to MySQL). So you can easily have a wordpress site (or anything that is driven by MySQL) eat up all of the available I/O usage which could and should lead to a suspension, as it will effect the performance of the entire server.

CL can limit to a particular extent it does not guarantee 100% resource isolation So better suggestion would be to check account and why its eating excessive resource

MYSQL Governor monitors MySQL side of things so it can help prevent abuse to a point.

I will check it after the account is unsuspended by root user. Thanks
