Gazzin troubles!

Posted by iHostKing, 10-12-2011, 10:23 PM
I have been with Gazzin for years. Every so often problems have popped up, but they were resolved. However, lately some issues have come up that may make me leave them. First off, right now, all of my wordpress blogs that are hosted with them are down right now. They have been down for hours and their support is not responding. They changed some server settings, and askiminet and backupbuddy plugins stopped working, on the blogs for about a week now. These are standard plugins that have worked for over the last year. Also pop emails that are being sent from their mail servers are being rejected as spam from carriers like sbcglobal.net, and soemtimes time warner. Also all of my sites are reporting an average of 50 minutes of downtime a day for the past month. Since the outgages have usually been at night, I have put up with it. I have been told that Gazzin is doing upgrades and so forth. I am at a critical point right now and I am tired of the problems. If things don't start working like they used to, I will have to leave.

I wanted to clarify something, the plugin problem has been going on for a week on all of my blogs, howeveer for hours today, all my wordpress blogs have been down. It is probably something as simple as an SQL problem, but their support people are absent and not responding!

Wow looks like a huge mess there. Do they respond to your support request slowly or do they not respond at all? If they are responding slowly, they may be swamped with requests so if they have a good track record in the past you may want to bear with them until this is resolved, but if they do not respond at all I will suggest you to take backups of all your websites and be prepared to leave.

They ended up fixing the problems. I have been with Gazzin for years. Every so often they put me through hell, but in the end, they get everything back up. They got my blogs back up, however, they were screwed up, so I had to recover them from a backup. The plugins are all now working, so I know they adjusted the server settings back to what they were. Let's hope this does not become a pattern!

Sounds good. Glad to hear that they cleaned up the mess.

Glad they got it resolved. Always maintain your own backups as such cases due occur.

Hi - Nothing has been modified on our legacy servers. However we have been migrating our servers to cloud hosting within the past few months where we utilize proprietary software such as litespeed, along with rvsite builders. More to come Norman!

Hmm.. downtime everyday for almost an hour each time? How much are you currently paying per month? If I were you, I would definitely consider switching hosts (even if they solved your current problems), seems like its something that happens often and should not be accepted as normal.

Fernando - We been in the business for quite some time and grown to the point where we operate our own servers, network, and datacenter. There is much more to it than meets the eye. As stated in our previous reply we are upgrading our legacy servers to our cloud service. Given the fact we have hundreds of servers the project will take some time for completion.
