Account suspension notice for a account

Posted by vikaspa, 10-13-2011, 11:46 AM
Dear All please help Hosted a web site having e-learning / distant learning for competitive exams in India. I have allocated web space of 100GB space for this website . This website obviously have proprietary (his own creations / self made) videos for education purpose. Now web hosting company (where i am reseller - unlimited account - i.e. unlimited space hosting and unlimited bandwidth) has suspended the website due to heavy usage of disk space. They have stated : Customer accounts such as personal, small biz and accounts under resellers can use disk space upto to 500 MB maximum. Only files required for running of the website such as html, php etc can be hosted. Zip archives, downloads, videos, audio files and other software or warez downloads are strictly prohibited. Hosting space cannot be used for data storage or backup dumping. It cannot be used for file sharing, spam software downloads, software key downloads etc. Sites that use higher than this space limit has to be upgraded to next available accounts such as corporate or semi dedicated account based on the usage. Failing to upgrade the account will result in suspension or termination of that certain website. I dont know what to do.... Can you suggest any other web hosting company who can allow me be reseller and do web hosting for these type of web sites

was it in their tos when you joined them that this could happen?

I doubt if a normal reseller account can take such high loads .. it would be better to move to a high-end vps with streaming capabilities or use a CDN for the videos

Frankly I donot remember but NOW asked for clear terms and conditions for the same. Its ok I will like to shift my reselling account can u suggest any hosting company who will allow unlimited hosting reseller and allow me to host these type of websites i.e. Upload and view large videos (propitiatory) for e-education/ e-learning

Hello, This is the problem with "Unlimited" Providers, there is simply no such thing. You will need to move to a Dedicated Server if you wish to continue hosting clients with 100+ GB of Data, but you will only get 2-5 of these accounts on a server. Another option is a CDN. May I also ask your provider

as suggested previously you would be better with a vps probably with cpanel as that seems to be what your used to. check out the offers section you can get vps with cpanel for same price as high end reseller package.

I have 2 tips that should solve your problem 1) Unlimited Resellers Dont Really exist, as you found out there are limits. 2) See if your client can upload the videos to YouTube and embed them into the pages, this will cut down on Disk use and Bandwidth

Np .. You might want to look at the VPS hosting offers section in WHT , chances are that you might come across something that interests /suits your purpose.

Since he is mentioning that videos are proprietary of commercial nature , may be public sharing on youtube might not be a choice ? not sure though, OP might be able to explain better. But thinking on similar lines , you can also checkout http://www.dmcloud.net/en/ or http://www.oculu.com , ie if you don't want to go with a CDN

Dear KDisk I really appreciate your suggestion / help I have 2 tips that should solve your problem 1) Unlimited Resellers Dont Really exist, as you found out there are limits. 2) See if your client can upload the videos to YouTube and embed them into the pages, this will cut down on Disk use and Bandwidth ________________________________________________________________ 1) True. But that is how they have described it. 2) Since these are propitiatory videos and customer want to be in his website In case hosted with you tube, at the end of the movie clip all related videos are displayed (hosted with you tube) which customer do not want

The problem your having here is your going with an "Unlimited" Reseller. There is no such thing, and now you know that! If your looking for a new Reseller to move onto, the Reseller Hosting Offers section is a good place to start! I wouldn't suggest a VPS unless the site is consuming excessive amounts of Disk and Bandwidth. If it is relatively small (which it sounds to be), I would stick to a Shared Environment for now!

Dear TBradley visited the link Bit confused and cannot rate the reliability semoweb very cheap .. $3.00 INSTANT SET UP~~256mb RAM/768MB BURST RAM - 150gb BandWidth - 15GB DiskSpace But what about reliability... Can u please suggest a cheap and reliable VPS hosting

Posted by daimon666, 10-13-2011, 01:45 PM
would go for slightly higher package than that for what you need i would recommend at least 1 gb ram and higher bandwith and i thought you said your client had 100 GB space 100gb into 15gb wont go.

How much disk space is your client actually using? The whole 100GB? How much do you need. How much bandwidth are you using? Budget? Then we can suggest options for you. There is no point in suggesting something which isn't going to suit what you need.

Here's the problem... WebHostingTalk is majority Web Hosting Providers. Most Hosting Providers don't have experience with other hosts, as they are a host themselves. WebHostingTalk rules is extremely strict about "suggesting" hosts you have no experience with, and hosts are not allowed to publicly offer their service. I can't speak on behalf of SemoWeb, but from what I have found, quality prices, but it is far worth it in the end! Does that make sense?

We have had a similar situation last year when we had to host exam question papers and it was really difficult to find a reliable shared service provider with pricing within budget. After a lot of searching and communicating with many providers we selected 4 providers which we found to suit our need AgoraHosting.com, BizzHost.com, KaleHOST.com. At the end, we settled with bizzhost as had the quickest support response.

I will suggest you to check futurehosting vps. They are providing excellent service.
